Not as moving and subtle as "Before Sunset", but...
24 May 2007
I just saw this movie at the Ficco Festival in Mexico City, a little bit surprised to notice it's dated back to 2005. It hasn't been long since I saw "before sunset" so I found "Conversations..." somehow similar. Acting is fresh, but the setting couldn't be any more dull. However, it really makes you think what's been like to be 40 and convinced what you've done with your love life is the right thing...or not. I'd say the dialogs are more realistic that those from the other movie mentioned above, since they seem more from your next door neighbors (more of a Brit movie vibe in the movie, although I'm not sure about the origin from the writers and director). The pace sometimes slows down, but in the end, you'd like it to last longer, so you can solve more clues. I wish their story had been a more complex one, I suppose.

Go see it if you like romantic movies...and have second thoughts about your own love life.
