genuine empathy and compassion

This episode really sums up the overall approach to the show. Its not only about the tear jerking reality of the individuals who are the focus of each episode, but you get a sense that this bunch of guys really do care and have empathy with the people they encounter. Its not overtly sentimental or corny but shows the reality that many people, who dont fit societies appetite for conformity, struggle with in coming to terms with their lives, sexuality, situations. I for one am an avid fan of the show. Particularly Karamo who seems to be such a great role mode for anyone struggling with identity and acceptance. A real winner. I hope that Jess is doing well and thriving. It would be great to catch up with the individuals featured in the show 6 month or a year down the line to see how their lives have been impacted or how they are have changed as a result of being featured in the series. Hats off to the producers for positive messaging that we can all benefit from.

Lesbian magic galore

Warning: Spoilers
I couldn't stop crying while watching this episode. I'm a lesbian who was blessed with accepting parents, and I know it's definitely not the experience many LGBT people share and it breaks my heart.

My heart broke even worse when it turned out Jess had been abandoned by her adoptive parents. Adoptive parents 100% choose to have a child and to me it's unforgivable to then just go and abandon that child because they're LGBT.

Jess and Bobby bonding on their shared experiences, Jess meeting her sister (and her adorable niece!) again, and bonding with Karamo were the absolute highlights of this all-around perfect episode.

Jess truly showed that after everything she's been through she has that amazing black lesbian magic, and I wish her only good things and love, from one lesbian to another.

Absolute Magic

This episode had me crying more than almost any other. I don't have really any of the same experience Jess has had, but I just felt for her and how much she has been through with her family and bullying as a teen.

The bond she shared with both Bobby and Karamo were so special. I believe these guys all care about all the people they help, but you could tell that they had a different level of love and support for Jess.

This episode is a best of what Queer Eye does. It's not about the superficial, it's abour bringing out the best version of whomever they are helping. They helped Jess find some more confidence while following her lead in what she felt confident and comfortable wearing, her hair, her makeup, etc. You could tell she felt so seen and heard, and it just helped her blossom!

Love this show and this episode was such a wonderful example of how great it is!
