A failure from one crucial perspective

What we have hewre is the music video for the Bryan Adams song "Everything I Do, I Do It for You" that was directed by Julien Temple and runs for 4 minutes approximately. This song is from the Kevin Costner Robin Hood movie and actually it got Adams his first of (so gar) three Oscar nominations, but no wins. This one here was released back in 1991, so it is over a quarter of a century old already and it needs to be said that a longer version of this music video (approximately 7 minutes) exists too. As for this one here, it features several scenes from the film it is linked with and maybe the visual side is better than what you hear this time. Adams' voice is solid and it is mildly catchy at times, but honestly the lyrics are really cringeworthy for the most part, very schmaltzy and they got nothing to do with reality in my opinion. It's not romantic either, just cheesy on a negative deal breaker level, which is quite a pity as the names working on this one (also Kamen, rip) and the general premise certainly offered the potential for something much better. The outcome is disappointing though. Don't watch. Don't listen to and this comes from somebody who likes some of Adams' stuff. But this one here gets a thumbs-down. Not recommended and the lyrics alone deserve even less than 2 out of 5.
