The Christiana Riot
jtownsend-23 May 2018
Very interesting episode, my relatives ancestors the Townsend and Wood family were also abolitionist Quakers. Involved in the Underground Railroad and the Women's Suffrage movement. Jacob R. Townsend was charged with treason for his part in the Christiana Riot, he had given a loaded rifle to a freedman named John Roberts who was headed to the William Parker house. Jacob Townsend married Evanna Pownall.

A break in format
Townlander22 August 2018
This is an educational and inspiring episode, but it's very different from other episodes. Unlike the usual pattern of searching back through generations to find stories, Zooey is handed a complete genealogy going back some six generations right in the first minutes! The rest of the program covers events involving pre-Civil War relatives in opposing slavery.
