Be who you are with friend love and a secret is revealed!

Episode 2 "Hurricane Helene/The Bachelor Party" from season 2 of "FOX's" "Fantasy Island" series was a pretty interesting episode and it once again expanded on the lives and relationships of Roarke(Roselyn Sanchez) and her ageless assistant Ruby(Kiara Barnes ex "Bold and the Beautiful" alum) and with this episode a secret is revealed that connects with the characters and the island as you see in the Hurricane Helene segment as it involves the young lady who is searching for her real life daddy. Also it's interesting to see how friendship and love is for ever more present among three male friends in the Bachelor Party segment. Overall okay revealing interesting episode that deals with a subplot and a connection to the island and to the past of the characters.

So, this is what we're doing now?

Warning: Spoilers
I have pretty much enjoyed this show. (It's one of the very few I do watch.). The show does a pretty good job of keeping the stories politic/culture war free. However, I was taken aback when one of the guests introduced himself as being queer. Why couldn't the character say he was gay, like everyone usually does. Are straight people going to start saying our sexual preference when introducing ourselves? Also, why did Elena look so sad when she figured out who the girl's bio dad is? Since she's staying, I guess we'll find out...hope she learns to smile. BTW...the woman who plays Ruby has a beautiful voice!

I gave it one last shot

The show does have a charm to it. Given the low budget aspect of the show,...they do a lot with what they have. The cinematography seems great. Such beautiful backgrounds.

But my biggest problem is the plots seem to be so narrow in focus. It feels like survivor season 41-42 where the cast was so unrelatable to so many of the viewers. And while the show was ok, it felt like a political statement was being made rather than just being a good show.

Go back to the recipe of the island knows (not the visitor gets to pick a wish), the host moderates. And let the plots be more universal in themes. Or if the goal of the show is to showcase only unique things,...then do all special interest so as an audience we all learn about everything, not just the 3 themes the show repeated heavily on (women specific themes, gay and lesbian unique experiences ). Instead give each episode unique race (every race), dig deeper in the lgbtq+ and cover it all. Etc etc.
