Better, well done

Warning: Spoilers
It was a pleasure watching this episode of Walker because the actors are starting to gel as a cast. Walker's (Padalecki) dialogue with Cooper was some of his best of the season. He spoke in a more natural cadence. He was in the scene, rather than focused on pausing mid-phrase in his sentences, which I find annoying and distracting. Cooper was great. I immediately bought into his character, no awkward before elegant character intro for him, straight to elegant, well played. I like Ashley Reyes much more than Lindsey Morgan. Ashley has a more natural beauty and has much more pluck as a character. She is very likeable in her portrayal as Cassie. She brings vulnerability to the role, which I would imagine is true to life for many women in a male dominated field, especially law enforcement. ( I always felt the chemistry was off with lindsay Morgan's character and Walker, and that she was cast because she was a bombshell- but she also never looked good in that brown drab uniform.) Ashley is a welcome upgrade. Please write a number for her to sing with Auggie at piano! Finally, kudos to the writers for making Jake Abel's character Kevin, the handsome chief of staff to the mayor, a villain. I just love it! I'm delighted because he is a good actor and so handsome. I would like to see more of him. I hope he does not get killed off. Brilliant. I did not see it coming and smiled broadly at the reveal. It's nice to see this show hitting its stride. I'm a huge fan of padalecki and want success for this show for him and for the benefit of all employed by it.

Another Homerun

Warning: Spoilers
This season shows what Walker can do when not faced with a lead leaving and a "forced" break out of the plot lines.

The family plot and the big bad arc have been fully integrated all season long and I'm loving it.

Also, hurrah, no telenovela romance for Cordell with repeated break ups, just a casual mention of an (equally strong) woman he likes. I do hope Julia stays a while.

---

For all of his struggles, Cordell finally looks legendary, capable of figuring things out even if we see his ptsd and continued grieving.

Huge, huge kudos to Jared Padalecki.

In spite of being knocked out and by a former mentor, he still managed to look fierce all episode long. Fierce and yet with the seasoning of loyalty for his mentor and brothers in arms.

Besides the intricate "track down," the fight scenes were not only well choreographed, they were well DONE by everyone involved.

I include the editors, of course, who always excel on this show. But I also include guest star David B Meadows (Cooper)

And what of Cooper? I'm believing he's innocent--or at least caught up in something and trying to find his way back to innocence.

What an amazing complexity Meadows has brought to a character who's only been on our screen a few times.

---

In addition, Jeff Pierre (Trey) turned in a great performance. How conflicted Trey as a medic must have been to let the one man bleed out, even if he was a villain.

And how smart Trey was to figure out that he could trust Lana. (Sincerely something I was having doubts about.) Do we have a second strong woman character entering the guest cast? That would be an interesting "meet cute" to be sure.

---

Kevin (Jake Abel) turning out to be as fake as his character seems. This is especially funny, since fans of a former show of his (Supernatural) know Abel is an excellent actor himself.

So here we see Abel over-performing as Kevin the smarmy politician and are now peeling back the layers to the character he truly is.

Smart on Abeline (Molly Hagan) to sense this, even if Auggie's plea gets Kevin an invitation to eat at home. As always, huge shout out to Walker for remembering that the "grandparent" characters are fully complex people, including leaning into their strengths and quirks.

---

I'm always more about the cases than the softer story lines, but I'm also beginning to see the potential in the horse rescue angle.

As always, Violet Brinson and Kale Cully bring it as young actors, but now I can say their characters are beginning to grow on me, too.

Do I hate that we have another hiatus? Yes.

But will I follow this show when it returns? Also a huge yes.

Highly recommend a watch.

Warning: Spoilers
This whole season has been so good love the whole Grey Flag storyline and Jared Padalecki as Walker getting more Walker centric storylines.

Out of all the episodes so far for season 3 this episode is by far my favorite. I have lost count how many times I have watched this episode it is so great no matter how many times I watch this episode it doesn't get boring,

Love the scene where Cordell shows off his tracking skills. Love all the emotions you can see between Cordell and his mentor Cooper. That fight scene was so well done the music picked for the episode and the background music is so perfect a huge kudos to the cast crew writers and to everyone who made this episode possible it is truly one of the greatest episodes ever I can't wait to see what happens in the next episodes and hope there will be many more seasons.

Love this show!

Warning: Spoilers
Starts of where we left of about the mystery of where Cooper has been and how to find him. I love the way Jared portrays the betrayal and wanting answers to what is going on. He ends up tricking Cassie and going off on his own to find him to try and figure out things but is quickly caught up in a dangerous situation. Love it when this show lets walker be the badass ranger he's known for and getting things done on his own. After waking up in the woods with no shoes he quickly is able to track down his captor and after a very awesome fight is able to get the upper hand on Cooper. Was so impressed with the fighting skills shown! Well done!
