Ralph is the prototype for counting one's chickens before they're hatched (or even turkeys). Ralph receives a telegram that he has been a prize winner in a raffle. He remembers that the first prize is a brand new car and begins making plans for the next five years. One kicker, however, is that Norton chipped in half the money for the ticket (25 cents to be exact), so the process becomes complicated. A similar plot involved a TV set. Of course, we know these guys are going to get jobbed somehow. The byplay between these two comedic geniuses is delightful as they fight over something neither of them has at the moment.
