Audience laughs explanation
shawndrewett-8776728 September 2023
I watch these episodes over and over because they are so great. Jackie Gleason and Art Carney are absolutely fantastic comedy actors. This particular episode has a live blooper that I want to address here. Ralph talks to Ed and walks around the room to hide the fact that he is zippering the zipper on his pants and the studio audience realizes this and laughs loudly! Art Carney never cracks a smile but Jackie Gleason comes out of character a bit and chuckles. No profanity, no nudity, no hidden political agendas just hilarious writing and acting. I'm filling in my review with the required number of characters.

I Noticed a Blooper

Warning: Spoilers
During the episode the audience bursts into laughter randomly when Ralph tells Ed to just bet on his horse. I just want to know what went wrong since this was live television? Does anyone have any ideas or stories?

There Goes the Rent Money
Hitchcoc10 December 2017
If one were to look at the implications of this episode, they would realize how serious Ralph's stupidity is. He and Alice are going to the races and Ralph has taken the rent money to use to bet. Soon a series of neighbors come by and ask Ralph to bet for them. Unfortunately, a cop suspects them of making book. This leads to Norton talking Ralph into making a really stupid move.
