An excellent seamless comeback

Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed it. In my opinion, this is one of the greatest episode of the whole series.

It's been almost two years since the last episode and God did I missed that show! The great thing about this episode is that it feels fresh, not like it really has been all this time and they had to reformat the show nothing has changed. All is well in curb world. All is well indeed! The formidable chemistry between actors is once again palpable. The cake, the party excuse and the black family are all instant classics. I laughed and laughed at the smoke alarm incident. I know this particular joke is not outrageously original, but seeing Larry struggle at a wire was something . That brings me to the fact that once again, it's always kinda his fault on how thing unfolds.

I really cannot wait for the rest of the season. I really think that it could be the best season to date to this rather excellent series.

Excuses, excuses

Warning: Spoilers
Has anyone been faced with a dilemma about going to a party no one wants to attend? What kind of excuse could anyone offer the hosts about such rude behavior? That is what Larry has to face as the story begins. He was invited to the Funkhousers, but decided not to go. As he meets Jeff and Richard Lewis, he believes he can pull a fast one by stopping quickly the following night to pretend he got the date wrong. The host, figuring it was a case of mixed signals will take the appearance of his guests, a day later as a sort of apology. Well, not so this time.

Larry intended to go Ted and Mary's party, but figures he will get away with his sort of excuse, then move on to the next destination. The only thing is the Funkhousers welcome them with open arms. The following night, they show at the Danson's. but same thing happens as the Davids appear at Ted's door, only that night they find themselves short of time as they must go to the airport. Cheryl figured the only way to help the victims of the latest killer hurricane is to invite a family to stay with them.

The Blacks are made to wait at the airport a long time. The family of four is beyond pleased as they arrive at the David's home. Larry has a thing about their name, which is Black. The only thing Larry resents is smoking in the house, something Loretta Black enjoys doing. Throwing a party to have their friends meet the Blacks goes well with the exception of a chocolate cake they enjoyed at the Funkhousers.

The first episode of the 2007 season showed up on a cable channel the other night. It is one of the funniest chapters of this award winning series. The season will revolve around Larry and his new guests, the Blacks. The opening was directed by Larry Charles who has been identified with the program and its success. Larry David wrote the screenplay which keeps moving at a steady pace. All the regulars were in place plus Richard Lewis and Tia Carrere, Bob Einstein and Vivica Fox who appears as Loretta.
