I wish this movie was believable. He put the biggest cameras in their house and you mean to tell me she didn't notice as she's on house arrest all day? The fact that she assaulted a teacher and only got house arrest as an 18 year old ... sure that's unbelievable and then the fact that the movie moved so slow was hard to stay focused. No need to drag the story out the way this one dragged.

worse than most lifetime movies

At start I was first amazed by how dangerous the boy and his friend were. Realistic and good topic. Reminds me of personal problems with abusive people and confrontations and criminals. But towards end the movie get more and more predictable, annoying, boring. The fact that girl was limited within her own property only makes this movie very predictable and low quality. The cameras looked fake, the fact that it gets unnoticed by girl looks fake, the hiding of switching of corpse with a doll looks impossible or fake. Unfinished end. Leaves us with many questions, holes in the story, and disappointment. Too boring. Only few random violence acts in form of confrontations looked interesting to me, and maybe somewhat hot girl, nothing else.
Bad girl gets a badder boy

This Lifetime movie has Calli Taylor as a bad girl who at one time was an A student. No real explanation is given,, but after she beans her teacher with a cell
phone, Taylor is suspended and put on house arrest with an ankle monitor.
Still house arrest might not be so bad when she spots hunky Travis Burns working next door. He's doing home repair on a house that he says belonged to his late grandmother. Of course as it always is in these films Burns is a very bad guy way out of Taylor's league of badness.
Typical trash from Lifetime.

Wow lifetime moves just aren't like they used to be back In the 90's/early 2000's. Almost all newer lifetime movies are just bad. This in was no exception. It was almost painful to watch bc the acting was so awful! Start making better movies lifetime....pleeeeeease.

not surprising

The good point - the presence of Vivica A. Fox. The bad - difficult to define with precision. Maybe the reasonable start , maybe the exploration of teenagers universe invaded by cliches. But it is far to be surprising. One of many films about the dark teenager and not real innocent victim near his guardian angel. And the open end , good looking young actors and , off course, Vivica A. Fox as a sort of savior of the too poor film.
Horrible acting.

Lake City House Flippers Make Bad Neighbors
lavatch9 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is part of a small franchise of "Wrong Boy Next Door" films. In Lake City, a pretty boy moves into a house after killing the owner, an elderly woman who is a seamstress. He and his partner are up to no good in moving into the vacated home, refurbishing it, then flipping it in a quick sale. The flipper, John Link, has an attraction to the neighbor girl, Katie Foreman, and he thereby becomes the wrong boy next door.
While under house arrest after a series of missteps at school, including cheating, vaping, and hitting her teacher, Ms. Grimes, on the head by throwing a cell phone, Katie has time on her hands to flirt with John. When she rejects him, he goes ballistic.
The best line in the film is spoken by Kathie's mom, a court recorder and a widow, who catches her daughter spying on the boy next door with a new set of binoculars. The mom tells the daughter, "Who are you, Jimmy Stewart?" She then has to explain the joke to her daughter who never saw the film "Rear Window."
A shortcoming of the film is that Katie was not a very likable character, especially in the way that she disrespected her mother. It wasn't until the close of the film that the two characters bond after a harrowing experience with the wrong boy next door. But the mother-daughter bond triumphs in the end, as the characters recognize that "we're going to do it together."

Lame and dull topped off with awful acting

Now I'll start off by saying I love watching Lifetime movies, although most of them have actors with no actual acting skill. This movie, however, was actually difficult to watch; most of the "the wrong" movies are fun (for me, anyway) to watch. The lead actress in this movie made the already terrible acting among most of the actors even worse. Every scene in this movie, this girl was trying to portray herself as being the only woman that men would want, trying way too hard. If she focused more on actual acting, rather than whatever it was she was attempting to achieve, she may have a shot. The story line and movie was rather boring and dull, with no actual plot, other than the "wrong boy" being a weirdo. Anyway, not one to bother watching. On another note, am I the only one that thinks the lady that played the mother has the most annoying/ghastly voice!
This movie dragged

I managed to do some cleaning, eat dinner/wash dishes, get ready for work tmrw and this movie was still on. Most if not all of the Wrong series involve obsession of some kind, but this had to be the weakest. I like Meredith Thomas' movies, and she, along with Vivica and Jason-Shane (who is basically a cameo) didn't make it worth it.
Also, I'm beyond sick of these villains getting away. It's so played out. It's one thing if they are just obsessed, but when they become killers, the movies totally drop the ball with tracking them down. They just move on to terrorize and after a couple of times, it's annoying.

Ridiculously unrealistic - Definitely a Lifetime movie

Warning: Spoilers
The executives at Lifetime must make it their mission to bring us boring, unrealistic movies with bad writing and even worse acting. Even Vivica A. Fox was horrible. I can't believe she agreed to be in this mess. My guess, she lost a bet. Not sure how they were able to put her on house arrest without the approval of a judge but in the Lifetime Movie universe, anything is possible. Also, not sure what company makes that ankle monitor but it seems to have an exceptionally high degree of accuracy. It's able to tell when she crosses the property line and track her every move without ever needing a charge. Then there's the wrong boy nextdoor. He installs the biggest cameras he could find at the Acme Stalker Store yet nobody notices them. Not even the high speed low drag detective noticed them. Speaking of the detective, how much crime and disciplinary issue are occuring at this high school that they need a dedicated police detective liaison? That school must see more action than some small cities. The premise of the movie was ok but the execution was atrocious. If there's nothing else on and nothing else to do, watch this movie. Otherwise, go ahead and paint the fence, go to the dentist, or watch the blank screen on your powered off TV.
Copy cat of distubia Shia LaBeouf
shaoshankhizkial1 October 2021
This movie is the copycat of Disturbia but very low budget and not as good as Shia LaBeouf in Disturbia they have just switch roles and put it as a female whos locked in her house pretty boring low budget bad acting movie I didn't like it.
The wrong boy next door

After troubled teen Katie (she likes to Chuck a mobile at someone in class!) is sentenced to house arrest, Katie falls for an attractive young man named John, who has just moved in next door. While their affair seems harmless at first, Katie becomes increasingly convinced there's more than meets the eye with John. Meaning she realises he's too buns short of a whole burger. He's the typically psycho guys you find in lifetime thrillers.
Calli Taylor is so beautiful, lovely eyes and so is her friend ... oh yes, the story isn't bad, though it's well telegraphed in terms of what's happening. But that's fine as these thrillers are relaxing and fun. Predictable but comfy as grandad sleepers. They are after all TV films with a limited budget and the scripts are just glanced over maybe a few times. The acting can be amateurish and the ending comes suddenly but it's a relaxing watch. They are better ones, though.

You mean to tell me it never crossed Samantha's mind to take a picture of the corpse? Or Kelly screenshot the facetime? And what was up with the ending? Apparently the whole police force is out looking for psycho and there he is sitting on the bleechers under the sun continuing to spy on Kelly?
