Return to the age of FUN

Plot; Michael goes undercover as a driver for a shady former Colonel who is planning a major heist.

Michael Knight and David Hasselhoff. Where does one end and the other begin? The Hoff may not be one of our great thespians, but he certainly plays the role of Michael Knight with a breezy and likable charm. That %80 or so of his lines are played against what was likely a crotchety key grip who smelled like day old bratwurst (a stand in for actor William Daniels) only makes his performance that much more impressive. No, this isn't Shakespeare, but it does require its own special type of acting ability. You put Laurence Olivier in this role and see how he does.

Michael Knight represents the prototype for what I have dubbed "Cheerful heroics". That is, a hero who goes about their missions with a smile and zeal. A can do, must do, attitude. It's almost a uniquely 80s phenomenon. This episode has more holes in its logic than a piece of Swiss cheese, but you just don't care because it's so much fun.

Those stunt doubles

It's the 80s so I know I've got to be a little lenient on the effects, but seriously those were some bad stunt doubles scenes, they straight up showed the face of a totally different person. Decent storyline and car chase scenes.

Fun to the max

Michael captures a criminal named Dugan and takes his place as Colonel Kincaid's new driver. His goal is to find out for what purpose Kincaid is building his own private task team .

Absolutely fun episode, with Michael Knight playing undercover once more, this time as a driver for a mad colonel who has a big ambition. It's a typical steal a bullion story, and the plan is ingenious within the framework of fantasy/escapism. This is a sci-fi crime/ action escapist series and it's not meant to be realistic. The finale with KITT moving close to the truck is well done and tense.

Inside Out
Prismark104 January 2018
Michael Knight takes the identity of a criminal driver called Dugan to infiltrate a paramilitary outfit led by the retired General Kincaid. He has a boot camp where people are preparing for the next job but no one knows what that job is.

Michael takes an interest in one of the recruits Linda, a young athletic woman seems with the Colonel reluctantly. Both team up when the Colonel's plan is to hijack a shipment of gold carried on a truck.

This is supposedly a dangerous assignment that Michael has taken on, as Devon tells him others who have planned to take the Colonel down have died. However the Colonel is bat crazy, his plan is lame, the plot is full of holes and defies logic. Only the charisma of KITT keeps you watching.
