In 1980, Gena Rowlands scored big as an independent woman who against her better judgment put her life on the line for a tough orphaned inner city kid, but six years before, Christie Love (Teresa Graves) did it as a heartwarming part of her single season TV series. Erin Blunt, from "The Bad News Bears" series of films, hides in Christie's car, hiding a tape for his brother (the much older Otis Young) that could put a criminal Warren Stevens away.

As he was in the "Bad News Bears" series, Blunt is a complete scene stealer, and Graves basically hands it over to him. He has her running from the mob and fellow police officers, steals and wrecks her car, gets her locked inside when Young gets his hand on the tape and has her on top of a high roof with Stevens. Christie also continues to struggle with her new boss (Jack Kelly) who could easily turn Herbert Lom on her for the crazy antics already. A fun episode shows her maternal side, and Graves' warmth works overtime to charm the viewer along with Blunt.
