Dempsey and Makepeace are under cover trying to find the mastermind behind a series of jewel heists. Little do they suspect they are being targeted themselves for getting to close to the source.

An average episode which has the usual hallmarks of an enjoyable D &M episode, only thing it's not very engaging one.

Dempsey and Makepeace go off grid as they try to find some jewel thieves that left a policeman shot dead.

Dempsey is convinced that there is an inside man who is supplying the thieves valuable information.

The problem is that the tip off that Dempsey has got is a trap. They are the bait for a hitman.

There is some humour as a frustrated Spikings views his department as mutinous.

Dempsey takes the cover of a hotdog seller and the food is pretty bad.

It is an uneven mix of comedy. Christopher Benjamin plays a fixer whose overweight daughter is getting married. He is very good as expected.

The hitman is over doing it with the method acting. Robert De Niro he ain't.
