The Stork Brings a Crane (#8.6)
ComedyFan20108 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Rebecca decides to throw a celebration for Cheers becoming 100 years old. Even the mayor comes, but it doesn't last long because the old guy invited because he was there when Cheers opened fakes a heart attack to have women bend over him and Lilith goes in labor. So now Frederick Crane is born.

Well that old guy pinching women is a good view on what Sam will become at that age! I liked Norm's way to bring back the time by getting cheaper alcohol! Clever.

And very excited about the Crane's being parents, I am sure we will get to see some more great things besides the celebrating the first gas!

Come In, Mr. Weaver!!!
Bolesroor4 May 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The Cheers gang celebrates the 100th anniversary of the bar while Lilith gives birth to baby Frederick. But this is 1989- doesn't the sign outside say Cheers was established in 1895? The discrepancy is explained away in a laborious and unfunny numerology gag. Luckily the episode gets better from here.

Why the hostility towards barbershop quartets? No reason is given. Raymond L. Flynn- the Mayor of Boston at the time the episode aired- guest stars as himself, although there's no reason you need to know that. This episode is the show's first attempt at high-energy physical farce, which would later be perfected in Season Ten's "An Old-Fashioned Wedding." This week's Un-Joke: Sam offers to boil water while Lilith is in labor. When she asks why he tells her he wants some tea. I'll give you a few minutes to laugh about this unexpected turn of events before I continue with the review.

A pregnant woman in the throes of labor decides Sam's smile is the secret to getting through childbirth without anesthesia. Frederick Crane is born offscreen in the back of a taxi and no explanation is given. Sam bangs a nurse to celebrate the birth of the child, and raging alcoholic Norm Peterson is left in charge of the bar after Rebecca, Woody and Carla all disappear off the face of the Earth for some reason.

Okay, the episode's not that bad. But it's not that good...

100 Years of Cheers
Hitchcoc31 August 2019
Rebecca discovers that the building housing Cheers was built a hundred previously. So she decides to celebrate this by making a big deal of it. She arranges events at Cheers which really turn off the employees. Meanwhile, Lilith begins to go into labor and this also leads to some madness. It' s a crazy episode and Rebecca is at the center of it.
