Sex & Nudity

  • A few teenage boys make crude sexual comments about a teenage girl.
  • A teenage girl is shown several times in a bikini.
  • A teenage boy is shown shirtless.
  • There is sexual material throughout the film including partially shown or just implied sex scenes.
  • Contains some occasional sexual references and innuendo throughout the film.
  • Two characters kiss passionately on three separate occasions. On one occasion, it's implied that the two characters have had sex (by fading to the "morning after"), however, the act itself isn't portrayed onscreen.
  • There is a scene in which an adolescent girl has promiscuous sexual encounters with several men on different occasions on the rooftop of her house. Only kissing and petting are depicted.

Violence & Gore

  • We see a young girl being lifted out of a bathtub after slitting her wrists (not shown) and we see blood in the tub and on the floor beside it. She survives this attempt.
  • A young girl throws herself out a window, impaling herself on the fence below. The aftermath is shown as are the horrified reactions of her family but the actual act is not seen.
  • The aftermaths of a mass suicide pact is shown. Teenage boys discover the bodies of several teenage girls: one hanged herself, one stuck her head in an oven, one overdosed on sleeping pills, and one is gassed by car exhaust fumes. The images are not graphic and are very minimal.
  • The suicides are not seen on camera and the aftermaths that are shown are not graphic. There is blood in one scene involving an attempt at suicide but nothing else like this for the rest of the movie.

Profanity

  • 'Bitch' is said once.
  • 'ass' is said once.
  • The language is very mild, there is essentially none.
  • Contains a single use of "shit"

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A doctor smokes a cigarette.
  • A character smokes cigarettes, drinks alcohol, and smokes cannabis.
  • Weed is smoked in the film and referenced to be given to people. This is the only drug used.
  • Other characters smoke and/or drink casually throughout the film, including teenagers.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Several suicides and suicide attempts.
  • Some of the scenes can be seen as awkward, uncomfortable, or hard to sit through.
  • There are some heavy and distressing scenes in the movie although it is not constantly intense.
  • There is a scene where a kid with Down syndrome is treated poorly and made fun of at a party. It is quite upsetting to watch.
  • Both suicide scenes are unexpected and shocking. They are not graphic but instead very frightening and upsetting to watch.
