Jericó is probably the best Venezuelan movie ever made. It was very well written and directed, and it shows probably the most traumatic period in the history of the New Continent.
The only thing that kept this movie for being perfect is the fact that the budget was so low that the director couldn't do the epic sequences required for these kinds of movies; sequences that could show the carnage of the first battles between conquistadors and aborigines.
But when you make a balance, the way that the movie show the evolution of the character Father Santiago, make everything worth it. Not to mention the incredible acting of Cosme Cortázar in the role.
Definitely a must see...
