Sex & Nudity

  • There are sexual relations between some characters, but it is implicit. Nothing is shown. No nudity exists.
  • One of the vignettes revolves around gay sexual abuse when a young man is forced to submit to (off-screen) homosexual acts with a man three times his age. There are some disturbing scenes such as one in which the young man is given the older man's underwear, or one scene where the young man receives a kimono. The old man acts in a disturbing, unnatural way while telling the young man that he is precious to him.

Violence & Gore

  • A man commits seppuku while standing up. He tears his stomach open with a sword and a profuse amount of blood begins gushing out. However the blood is hard to see because the scene is in the dark.
  • There is a beheading. The act isn't shown, but two bloody heads are seen on the floor. Brief but very graphic and disturbing.
  • A woman kills herself by cutting her throat, she isn't shown doing it but the aftermath is shown. In this scene, the woman is seen face down on the floor with a pool of blood under her neck. Bloody and intense.
  • A man has his hand stabbed into the floor with a sword. Not graphic.

  • This is a very disturbing film.
  • There is a plot point revolving around gay sexual abuse. A young man is forced into implied homosexual acts with a very old man, who is extremely creepy, perverted and possessive toward the younger man. Intensely disturbing.
