Maybe I'm a tough judge because I knew this story over 30 years ago when it unfolded. Not the best written movie. Very jumbled at times. They skip all around and show very little details about their real life. Everything major was bleak. Didnt show David's death scene, didn't show Kerry losing his leg, didn't show the youngest son die or how he died. The 2nd youngest son was 5'5" in real life but 6'3" in the movie. Was confusing that all the other actors were 4-5 inches shorter than the real life people. Kerry was a handsome built giant and by far the biggest star of the family in real life. But in the movie they had some guy who was a half foot shorter and way goofier looking with ZERO muscle. You can fool all these rookies who don't know the real story but I wasn't impressed. The dad was good and Zac Efron was good but the rest were blah.
