I enjoy the series... BUT the movie with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess is one of my favorite movies of all times, and I think the series was a little off.
The story and the way it was told was great. The problem is the actors! For me Leo Woodall as Dex was perfect, I think he was even a more likeable Dex than Jim Sturgess, but Ambika Mod as Emma I don't think was the best choice, she's not funny and a little clumsy like Emma from the movies, she's not that likeable, always had this expression of disgust that make her look like she doesn't even likes Dexter as a person.
The thing is, and this is why I didn't love the series: THEY DIDN'T SELL ME THAT THEY WERE BEST FRIENDS, I didn't believe them. The relationship they had through the entire series didn't show that like the movie did, and the series had plenty of time for it and fail. I didn't felt at all the love and that complicity you have with a best friend, that is what was lacking on the series in order for it to be great and I think that was in part because of the lack of chemistry between the actors.
