Loved loved loved this series. Watching really brought back happy memories of the 90s/early 2000's and I felt quite nostalgic - the soundtrack really aided in whisking us as the viewer back to this time.
It's quite different to the film owing to the fact they have more time to work through the source material via 14 episodes.
I've read some other reviews which say the two leads lack chemistry, I didn't get that. They are playing two characters who are fundamentally quite different yet somehow, they work. As we arguably see Emma and Dexter apart more than together on screen, when they finally come together it's just... magic!
Leo Woodall's performance, especially whilst deep in the stages of grief, was absolutely heartbreaking to watch.
Ambika Mod really captured Emma's sarcastic and endearing character. As Emma she's able to bring out the best in Dexter, who at times is quite unlikeable.
All in all, a must watch series.
