Review of One Day

I have never written a review for a movie or series before. But I have been beyond moved this evening after concluding 2 days of binge watching this show in my evenings. I am a single 28 year old female, who's had one special love in her life. This evoked emotions in me which had me in tears on 3 separate occasions, absolutely beautifully written. For those that say the leads didn't have chemistry, I beg to differ. This was REAL and felt so genuine and raw and awkward, as if it was real life. For the few vile comments I have read about her looks and how 'he would never look at her twice in real life'.. I am the kind of girl you'd imagine Dex would 'go for..' , blonde hair, blue eyes, attractive. Emma's character is complex and beautiful in the rawest form. She didn't try, she was never anything for anyone.. she just; was. Which, I can only describe at the most attractive any one person could ever be... unapologetically, them. I like to imagine that his soul was tied to hers the minute he looked at her, that really the 'physical' never even mattered, that regardless she was always going to be beautiful to him. I think I can speak for every woman on planet earth when I say we all hope we can be so unconditionally loved like this. I don't quite know whether to feel desperately sad that he lost her, or greatful he got to experience such love in their short time together..something which many of us aren't lucky to experience at all. Thoroughly moving and thought provoking. I think the actors were superb... and I couldn't not say anything after concluding the final episode.

I read someone else say that sometimes a movie comes along and just moves you so deeply that you are changed forever ... I feel that. This movie has made me reevaluate my outlook to be more precious with the time spent with loved ones & to take each goodbye like it could be the last, and to hope that I might one day find a love as precious as that imagined by the author.
