The Big Boss is Bruce Lee's first main outing and he delivers right from the start a memorable and charismatic performance. Truly underrated as an actor, he brings a fierceness and fire within his face which holds true for the script given to him. In addition to this, the set designs and lighting bring out the mood and amps up the tension.
What is a bit less impressive is the overall setup outside of the action - it's very forgettable; none of the secondary characters leave much of a memory and the antagonists lacked emotional focus and reasoning for why and what they are doing. The overall result is commedable but unremarkable.
