The Hours is a quite kind of film that made quite a bit of noise when it was originally released. In large part this was because of the cast, all of which turn in excellent performances. As for the story, its been related here many times over so I won't retel it yet again. I will say that it is kind of interesting and that these three main characters lives/stories intertwine within the story is fresh and interesting. It's not high drama, but there was enough here to keep my interest throughout the films entirety. The subject is a bit somber sure, but that doesn't necessarily need to make the film depressing to the point that it should be avoided, as some reviewers have suggested. If you're interested just put your big girl or big boy pants on, be an adult, and check it out.
