As others have said, this version tried too hard to be 50 shades of gray as well, and in doing so lost all the depth of Josephine Hart's original work. I still remember reading the first page of the book 25yrs later and being consumed immediately. Jeremy Irons version was also a letdown but somehow a bit less offensive. Respect that the actors were willing to do scenes many would not but in this case I think less would have been more. Guide the viewer but let them fill in the blanks. I love Richard Armitage in all series (and particularly as an audible narrator!!) but this just tried too hard.
