Absolutely fascinating - A Dream of Romanticism
9 November 2022
This is simply one of the best movies I have seen in this genre, especially at a time when Sri Lankan Cinema is losing its common touch and touch of Romanticism. Apart from all the fabulous visuals and camera angles, and apart from the commendable acting ability demonstrated by the comparably new actors, it was a tremendous story which carries a deep meaning you wouldn't notice until you watch the last scene.

As a huge fan of Cinema who has seen all the movies since 'Gone with the Wind (1939)' to present day 'CODA(2021)', I can certainly say that this approach is great, and I was moved. I think this is what Sri Lanka Needs, 'Romanticism'. Romanticism is a philosophy of Art developed in the late 18 and early 19 centuries to reinstate the beauty and love of human life. This was how the people in Europe dealt with the harsh and ruthless living conditions in Industrial Age by being factory workers. I personally think Sri Lankans are also going through such a terrible time now and this type of Romantic artworks are required to ensure positive feelings of life. And thank you to this team for doing that.

For the first time after many years, I felt I was moved by watching a Sinhala Movie. And the best part is at the last, which actually questions the deep roots of our consciousness - as the name puts it, loving wishes... actually what are yours...

I will not be so rude to share spoilers 😊😃🥂.
