Better than CID
9 September 2022
For Starters, I absolutely love CID. Despite the low on story and thrill cases in the last couple of years before CID went off-air, it is my guilty pleasure. When in 2018, the show went off-air, I was one of the disheartened fans. And randomly one day I discovered this show on Youtube. One of the first thing I notices is that these guys are in uniforms and they have given attention to the dress code. Like Shambu who is a constable is often with a stick unless he is going to arrest someone or in a mission and wears a Black leather belt. The rest of the team frequently reports to the Commissioner of the police, which was a great procedural addition.

They have played well on the nostalgia value by having the cast of CID, so give yourself time before you get adjusted to Purvi being Meenakshi, Daya being Hanuman, Abhijeet being Ali, Fredricks being Shambu and Nikhil being Sushant. The show thrill value is also somewhat better than CID, as most of the investigation happens through discussion and brain storming and DNA Reports and other forensic investigation takes time.

I have seen 5 episodes till now, and I like it better because it shows the cultural diversity, shows more investigation skills rather just slapping someone and everyone has a personal life. Hanuman (Daya from CID) has a daughter, Ali (Abhijeet from CID) has a mother these add arc to the character development.

The production value is ordinary and the cases are also ordinary. If they would have up the thrill game and maybe have a case solved through 2-3 episodes or have an ongoing investigation much like in Castle, it would have been awesome to watch.

Giving it 9 because this again I can always watch while having my dinner.
