I might be unfair, but the show would be great hasn't Fosse already told it. This production has more background but less dance than the original, Vendon had more lines than in All that Jazz, but couldn't deliver much more than in Fosse's script. Once again, this is unfair to a couple of great actors telling the story now, but who can impersonate Ann Reinking better the the original and even if Sam Rockwell shows arguably more facets than Roy Scheider, we already have seen Fosse as boy in the burlesque theater and in the hospital bed with almost identical shots and lines. It's 8 points for those who don't know Fosse's own pic and 6 for me.
