Sympathy For The Devil

Truly a stunning movie all around! Having grown up through the actual time of Ted Bundy's capture and conviction and all, the sets brought it all back to me. But its when Luke Kirby as Ted Bundy enters the room, there's this creepy electricity that quietly radiates off him. Elijah Wood is great as the non-biased FBI agent that just wants to understand Ted and his motivations. But this intense friendship develops as Ted relies on the agent to be his somewhat salvation, and simultaneously shows the agent how impulse can become an addiction to anyone with anything. And is hard not to develop sympathy for Ted, as he was truly brilliant. Crippled with the heinous vices of rape, murder, and chewing gum. The camera angles, pacing, editing, and soundtrack all add to the ominous ambience of a truly present evil. Which maybe more on the outside of the prison walls than within. A truly exceptional movie!
