Review of Oklahoma!

Oklahoma! (1955)
7/10
Not top Rodgers and Hammerstein
26 July 2021
A classical Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical play adapted to the screen with all the glamour of the time (there were two versions filmed, one in 35mm Cinemascope and one even more spectacular in 70mm Todd-AO at 30fps). It has some very famous musical numbers and visually it's a pure beauty, but the story and characters are not as strong as other works from the pair. But if you love musicals, it's a must.
