Mad Men: Collaborators (2013)
Season 6, Episode 3
The Affairs Of Don And Pete
27 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A pretty good episode, not one of the best.

A pop culture reference to the Broadway musical "Hair", which had opened in Apr 1968, so this episode must take place around that time. There is some flashback scenes for Don, where he is reminded of seeing hookers through peepholes in the place where he was brought up. Pete's story concerns his having a tryst with a neighbor wife. It ends badly when she is beaten by her husband and Trudy figures out what is going on. Peggy's story involves dealing with her writers, she tries to be tough but she can't quite pull it off, since she still wants to be liked. Don learns from Ken that they have a chance for Heinz ketchup, "the Coca Cola of condiments". Don wants this kept quiet and only Stan is allowed to work on it. My favorite scene is sleazy Herb from Jaguar showing up, Joan gives him a nasty put down. Megan tells Don she suffered a miscarriage.

The final song is Bing Crosby singing "Just A Gigolo".
