So just somebody please PLEASE PLEASE explain to me what ahole came up with the give to someone you love aspect,ruins the whole thing, a stranger, that would invite a whole new set of victims, every time, under this logic, u have to give to SOMEONE YOU LOVE, and the creature kills the WHOLE FAMILY of the person possessing the thing, so by said logic, if i love my father, and give the box to my father (guy in movie gave to his mom) by the rules set for the creature, it kills the person possessing it AND THEIR FAMILY, so the thing would kill my father and my g mom and aunts who are always around, THEN ITS COMIN FOR ME, again, the rules state, kills the person and the family, so by givin it to my old man, it kills him and his family, IM HIS FAMILY!!!! So what the hell is the point!!??!!??!!?? Its gonna come back and get me anyway, this should be a stranger type deal or give it to an ex ur still in love with, UNLESS SHE GAVE BIRTH TO UR KIDS!!!!!!
