Victor Mature in his second role in a movie, he looks more like Johnny Weissmuller in Tarzan, than the prehistoric Tumak. Carole Landis is beautiful, full of charm, but totally unfit for the role of Loana. I don't want to say more about her, because her film career and her private life have been a great great drama. She would have deserved much better and more consistent roles to demonstrate her obvious talent. The music from this is totally inappropriate, even ridiculous compared to the excellent music of Mario Nascimbene in the remake with Raquel Welch. The animals also look as exactly what they are, a lizard, a crocodile, an armadillo, an elephant. I am convinced that it was fun in 1940, not today. The remake of this one, the one with Raquel Welch, obsessed me all my life and I've seen it many many times. By far much much better than this one.
