Green Eggs and Ham (2019–2022)
10/10
I do like green eggs and ham! Thank you, thank you, Sam I-Am.

Warning: Spoilers
Just finished watching the whole series. Whoever managed to make a whole 13-episode story arc out of Sam I-Am asking Guy Am-I to eat green eggs and ham 20 times and made a 25-minute episode out of a singular place where Sam asked Guy to try the eggs and ham has got to be the greatest cartoon book adaptation writer ever. For starters, the story of this series is set up so Sam doesn't constantly stalk Guy Am-I every time he asks guy green eggs and ham. Guy Am-I never had a name before in the book or the Dr. Seuss on the Loose short, so it's great that this series gave him a name because he used to just be known as Green-Eggs-And-Ham-Hater. Sam's mission from the beginning is to set the Chickeraffe free from the zoo and go to Meepsville to set it free. The mother and daughter from the train in the book have also been promoted to another duo of main characters known as Michelle and Elana Bell (EB for short). They're Vera and Olympia from Norm of the North done right. Even though they may not have had a purpose in the main story of Sam and Guy's Chickeraffe and green eggs and ham, they both have a strong personality that contrast off each other well and have meaningful interactions and emotional conflicts with Guy and Sam late in the season.

There are also these two bad guys who need to go after Sam to get the Chickeraffe. I thought they were working for Snerz, but surprise! This is where the spoilers come in. Gluntz and McWinkle were really working for Walter Bigman and Sam was getting Snerz the Chickeraffe to complete his collection, betraying Guy, Michelle and Elana. Or was he? Their blind faith in Sam got him to turn around and pull a good cactus on Snerz by giving him a gerooster painted like a chickeraffe, and used Snerz's reward money for the Chickeraffe to get him back to his home. And the best part? Sam got Guy Am-I, perpetual hater of green eggs and ham, to try the green eggs and ham Anywhere to prove his worth to Sam as a friend. I am so looking forward to the second season where Sam tries to find his mother! Hopefully when the second season comes, Guy will keep trying to make inventions that won't explode until he eventually succeeds, so he won't have to watch paint dry for a living, and EB will get her mother to consider being an artist again so she doesn't have to worry about Geroosters eating all the beans she counted. My two most favorite breakout characters in the whole series were and are definitely EB and Gluntz. EB is a whimsical, energetic girl and Gluntz is awfully funny and polite for a bad guy, even before we knew she and McWinkler were good animal defenders. I would gladly split a ham-a-geddon with Gluntz if I had the chance to help her get a picture on the wall with Sam.
