Review of Sons and Lovers

I found Stockwells accent a real barrier to any enjoyment of the film.The only reason he plays the part is to ensure American distribution.So why didn't Wald make the film in America with an all American cast that would have been less jarring.It doesn't help that the film is bound by the censorship restrictions of the early sixties and cannot be completely faithful to Lawrence.
