Paper Towns (2015)

An Interesting Story!
30 September 2015
Based on the 2008 novel of the same name by John Green, 'Paper Towns' is an interesting story, about love & growing up. Made sensitively & acted naturally, this recent sleeper hit is a pleasant surprise.

'Paper Towns' Synopsis: After an all night adventure, Quentin's life-long crush, Margo, disappears, leaving behind clues that Quentin and his friends follow on the journey of a lifetime.

'Paper Towns' only falters in one aspect & that being its pacing. The unevenly' structured narrative is off-putting & puts this otherwise well-made film, down. I wish this story was well-paced, rather than being Topsy-Turvy.

Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber's Adapted Screenplay is quite interesting & offers a fresh take at first love. I was involved in the protagonist's journey to find his love, although it could've been crisper in the second-hour. Jake Schreier's Direction is passable. Cinematography & Editing are mention-worthy. Son Lux's Score is first-rate.

Performance-Wise: Nat Wolff leads the show. He's excellent here, enacting the naive protagonist, with great honesty. Cara Delevingne is correctly cast & does well in a small role. Halston Sage, Austin Abrams, Justice Smith & Jaz Sinclair lend good support.

On the whole, 'Paper Towns' may not be perfect, but it still charms.
