As westerns go, I felt this one really kept the feel of how original westerns felt. All acting came across really well, nothing was too overacted, and it's a sign that Ed Harris seems to have his finger on the trigger when it comes to his films.

However, this is a western and as westerns go, they always seem to follow a very similar pattern, sheriff or two plus bad guys with a hint of a woman. You also say that about a lot of films, but with this film is a was a little predictable, although with the female character (Zellweger) there certainly was a nice little twist that was unexpected.

If you like westerns then you could definitely do worse, this film is definitely watchable, and enjoyable for the most part. Guys do not fear, as your partners should be able to enjoy this film too. It's not all about gun fights and bullets, there is an underlying comical side and a very unusual love story involved, if you can call it that?
