I had high hopes for this film, considering the people involved. I found the story to be unbelievable and awkwardly told, with no narrative drive. The atmosphere- rural Texas in the mid-70s- was strong, and the film looked good, but I wasn't engaged emotionally in the story. Max Perlich had the most affecting scenes. His character will remain in my mind.
