Ghosts That Still Walk (1977)
Not good.
The movie seems to have been assembled piecemeal. There are flashbacks from hypnosis sessions and journals. Sadly not much happens in them. The individual stories are filled with padding like a couple extended RV chase/out of control sequences. There are also long pointless conversations that lead nowhere and don't help move the plot along. It is painfully boring. The idea of the Indian mummies as a plot device tying every thing together just doesn't work.
I like these regionally made low budget movies but this is one that I just can't recommend. I had never heard of this one before and I can see why,
My Lovely Burnt Brother and His Squashed Brain (1988)
Yikes! What did I just watch?
I take the time out to find low or no budget independent movies but sometimes it is a miserable experience. While I give them credit for a few gore effects this is such a random mess of characters that don't seem to connect tea each other. I guess that some folks dig that sort of thing but not me. I can't recommend this one.
Blood Pageant (2021)
Just an awful way to spend a couple of hours.
This is sincerely one of the slowest movies I've seen in a long time. The editing is shabby with backgrounds developed for characters that I didn't care about and I'm sure most people won't either. I also didn't see this faith based horror flick thing coming and even that was ineptly done. Forget where you stand on that this is terribly acted, directed, edited (needed to say that again), and a complete waste of time.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions but I have to think that those giving this 9 and 10 must be shills.
Homebodies (1974)
Decent horror comedy
They shouldn't have tried to take Miss Emily away. When they try to kick some elderly tenants out of their longtime home the bodies start to roll. The accidents start to pile up as they delay the building of a nearby high rise building.
Bigfoot's Bride (2021)
Bigfoot in a dress shirt and jeans
Want to see "bigfoot" watch someone fish, a lady pee, and play with a halloween mask of a clown? Then this is the movie for you and I would also suggest therapy.
Bigfoot vs Megalodon (2021)
The Director must have a lot of friends
Because there is no way this movie should be so highly rated. Imagine spending an hour with a video game cut scene from the '90s. Toss in some terrible dialogue and voice acting for an unpleasant hour.
Steven Kan's Sharks of the Corn (2021)
I really wanted to like this movie
I'm a big Tim Ritter from back in the day. This movie is about a half hour long, has far too many characters, and lots of pacing issues. I liked the cheesy stuff and silly vibe but it is overwhelmingly boring.
Platypossum (2017)
Inept waste of time
I love independent movies and there are some great filmmakers out there making good stuff with little or no budget. But Platypossum is an example of someone who thinks they should make a movie because they have a camera, regardless of lack of talent. They have little to no story and end up with the "next" group walks into the woods and dies to the monster trap. When not doing that we get a crusading scientist yelling about the dangers of fracking. We do eventually get a monster but it's origin story is distasteful and the execution not good. Lousy sound and lighting make for a flick you should stay far away from.
