This is my first time to watch Indiana Jones, and it hasn't occurred to me that I would love this film. The poster from the former franchises has no appeal for a young teenage girl like me, particularly since these movies were made in the 90's, but it is such a bummer that I have not watched this brilliant film. Now, I'm on a marathon to catch up on the first movies.
I have no idea why the critics have not liked this final franchise and said that this is not a worthy film to be seen; otherwise, I have a different intake on that. This film is one of the great plots they served this year.
I believe this is a great film, despite a few flaws with the character backstory and reasons. Starting with the female character, Shaw is the cunning goddaughter of Dr. Jones, who stole the dial so she could auction it to the mobsters in order to settle her loans. Although she was very annoying, cunning, and a bad character for an hour, at least she had better character development and stuck to her morals to help Dr. Jones.
Second, he is the godfather, and he has no idea what she turned out to be and no communication at all after her father died. That is the worst godfather, then. It means he hasn't dealt with her even once-never.
Third, how come that Nazi is still alive? There's no backstory for that, so it's a minus point. It's a deep sinkhole for the movie.
And lastly, never has the CIA intervened after the agents were killed, and they just let suspects roam around the world? Have they not notified other bureaucracies and interagency agencies in other countries that there are fugitives running around? The movie had not tackled that.
Overall, it a great film - filled with adventure, and stunning, breathtaking film set.
