Act of Valor (2012)
There is a Reason Navy Seals don't go for Acting and Actors vice versa
Action is A+. But Acting C- there is a reason why the Navy SEALs do not make a good actors, and the actors do not make good Navy SEALs. The actions are pretty good and realistic. But the dialogue delivery and even small talks between the action seems completely out of place and forced. So do not have high hopes. The movie does not connect with you in emotional ways at all. Just a decent war flick. Even the bad guys are pretty aweful at acting and shouts and jam erratically without much sense, it seems almost comical. Nonetheless not completely unbearable with all good realistic action. You make your own judgment.
Polite Society (2023)
What Bollywood Should Have been, instead of same formulaic movies for last 50 years
This was an absolutely hilarious joyride. When I saw the trailer I was quite intrigued by the creativity of the story. So my wife and I decided to watch together. Mind you, we both have a very different tastes when it comes to movies (when we watch movie together, one of us is always trying to like whatever genre we are watch :). But to our utter surprise, we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The main character (Ria) is absolutely charming, naive, funny, tough, all at the same time, driven by her love for her sister to fulfill her passion and potential, rather than social and cultural stereotype. What starts with a silly and childish quest, soon takes a dark turn and things get suspenseful and interesting. Without giving it away, I would highly recommend this can-be-cult-classic. All the cast have done incredible job, the older sister Lena and groom's mother, even Ria's friends are hilariously funny. You can see that they are having fun too.
My title of this review stating that the Bollywood should make movies like this stands true. Bollywood has been guilty of making same formulaic and stereotype movies over the year. This, while not being a Bollywood movie can be a good example of how Bollywood should have been.
Anyways, enjoy the ride, and you won't be disappointed.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988)
Absolutely Delightful
One of the funniest and most entertaining comedies of all time. The chemistry between Michael Caine and Steve Martin is electric, and their performances are nothing short of brilliant. The script is clever, witty, and full of hilarious one-liners that will have you laughing out loud. The supporting cast, including Glenne Headly and Anton Rodgers, also delivers outstanding performances. The film is a masterclass in comedy filmmaking and a must-see for any fan of the genre. The story is engaging, the pacing is perfect, and the ending is satisfying. This is a film that I can watch over and over again and never tire of. If you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor and watch it today. It's a classic that will leave you in stitches.
BTW Last 10 minutes is the cherry on the cake.

Relive one of the Earliest and Greatest Achievement of Indian Cricket History
Relive one of the most fascinating, greatest underdog story of cricketing world's history. If you are even remotely a cricket fan, this is one of the truest to source material, compelling story that has even made on a big screen. Even, if you are not cricket fan, it will move you and make you wonder of the feat of achievement the ragtag team was able to achieve.
When the Bollywood makes a movie based on true or historical event, it tends to fit many of the un-necessary bollywoody content in it, to spoil it. But Kabir Khan (Director) has done an incredible job of staying true to the story. It was like we were watching the actual game.
There are so many nice little touches in the movie like showing the actual video clips and photos during the match, also some cool brief appearances of the actual cricketers.
All in all a MUST watch for all ages. Don't miss out of one of the best sports movie in the Bollywood.
Encanto (2021)
Not so Encanto (charming)
It is a decent family movie. But it lacks the impetus. The story line is pretty thin and can easily be described in 10 minutes short film. There are some good parts, but for the most part, it feels disjointed. The end saves the movie a bit. But overall just an OK family movie. I cannot fully recommend it.
Almost an Angel (1990)
Enjoyed this little Gem
I started the movie with full expectation to stop in the middle when I am bored or ready to sleep. I did finished the entire movie and I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It is by no mean a super funny or super gripping movie. But it is charming, funny, cute, clean movie. It brings a good morals without being too preachy.
Paul Hogan is charming as ever. Linda Kozlowski, Elias Koteas do a pretty decent job. The plot is simple and slow, but interesting.
Don't go by Rotten Tomato's rating, they don't give more than 3+ rating for any movies that had word God in them without being used as a curse word.
Overall, if you enjoy a family friendly, funny, cute movie from 80s-90s, you won't be disappointed.
Aladdin (2019)
Genie-ous, Hilarious, Fun Filled Family Entertainment
Very well done, funny, joyful ride. The movie has a great message throughout. Wonderful acting. Naomi Scott is very charming. Will Smith is hilarious. Don't listen to the Critics, Just go out with the whole family. It is an absolute fun filled family entertainment.
Unbroken: Path to Redemption (2018)
A Review by a Christian
Being unapologetically Christian, I enjoyed the movie. It truly depicts the turning point in the life of Louis. The story is kind of slow but is at a decent pace. It mainly tries to demonstrate Louis's struggle with addiction and PSTD issues. But it also shows that the issues are also spiritual in nature. And only way he could overcome the demons of his past was through his faith.
It has a redemptive ending. In this day and age, it is rare to see such clear representation of a person's faith journey.
You will not be disappointed.
Acting: 9/10
Story: 8/10
Family Friendliness: 9/10
