Very fun to watch!
24 January 2024
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) is an iconic show full of nostalgia and has been part of many people's childhoods and adulthoods. Being a big TMNT fan, I have never watched the 1987 show. I have seen clips of it but never watched the whole show from start to finish. The series has 193 episodes split between 10 seasons (seasons 3, 4, and 7 being the longest). The storyline is easy to follow and fun to watch. It's different from the later iterations because I found that this show focused more on the comedy and light-hearted atmosphere (but that changes in seasons 9 and 10) compared to the other shows that focus more on the fighting and tense scenes.

However, due to the age of the show, it's easy to spot animation mistakes. Such as duplicate characters, missing characters, and wrong character speaking. But this doesn't take away from the show but adds charm, and I always found it funny when I spotted a mistake!

The best of Netflix
24 November 2023
I've seen gifs and recommendations for the Blue Eye Samurai everywhere on Tumblr and Instagram, so I caved and finally watched it; I loved it! The animation is smooth and clean, with colourful scenes and a lovely sound design. The character designs were gorgeous, and I loved the storyline too. Also, the characters (e.g. Mizu, Taigen, Eiji, Akemi, Ringo, etc) are interesting and help move the story along. Additionally, the action scenes were fun to watch and engaging. I loved every minute of this show, and I know I'll be rewatching it soon; I hope there will be another season.

I definitely recommend this show!

Let it rest.
22 November 2023
Grey's Anatomy... this show has probably been on everyone's "to watch" list at some point. While watching, I can honestly say it was a good show full of emotions, comedy, great characters, and even engaging plot twists and cliffhangers. But, the later seasons, mainly seasons 14 through 19, were hard to watch. I did enjoy it, but it wasn't the same excitement I had when I first started the show; I think once the OG cast left, everything felt off and more like characters were replacing the ones that left.

Overall, it's a good show, but don't feel obligated to finish every season. I've watched what I needed to, the fan favourites, and I probably won't watch anything after season 19.

Loved it! Hope they add more!
6 October 2023
The Continental is a relatively short series containing 3 episodes, but these episodes are about 1 hour 40 minutes long. The story progression through this time goes at a steady pace and introduces the characters well, these characters help move the story forward and provide the action for this series. Speaking of action, I found that the action was slow going at first (unlike the movie counterparts) but as the series progressed the action got bigger and bolder until the story and angst were resolved at the end. Again, the characters were very interesting to watch as they were all different to each other which helped move the story forward.

I found this series very engaging and fun to watch, I watched this with my dad as we are both big fans of the John Wick franchise and after every episode, we had theories where some became true and others didn't. I can definitely see us rewatching this series in the near future! I hope they add more to this series, I'd love to see how The Continental changes throughout time until the last John Wick is set.

Start of their journey
4 September 2023
Mutant Mayhem is the newest addition to the TMNT world, it was nice to see some of the characters again that have been in previous iterations but we haven't seen them for a while. The storyline for this movie is different when compared to previous TMNT shows/movies but it was nice, like a breath of fresh air, we didn't know what was going to happen. Also, the movie had some great heartwarming scenes and comedic ones too, the boys are actual teenagers just starting their journey. Additionally, these scenes are powered by the music, which helps the audience understand the emotions of the scene, and it makes the scenes fun to watch when you want to dance in your seat.

Also, I love the art style of the movie, it's a style that we haven't really seen much of (besides the 2018 cartoon). The character designs are amazing, the young turtles look like little gremlins and I love that, each character had such a unique look that we haven't seen in other iterations too. Furthermore, this plus the animation just made for a very colourful and very fun film to watch.

I've heard some people say that it was a lot more violent than they were expecting but that's just it, this is a TMNT movie and just any other iteration (like the comics, TV shows, and movies) it is violent. To be honest, I thought the action scenes were very fun to watch and pretty smooth overall.

Elemental (2023)

Pretty visuals!
16 August 2023
The first thing that comes to mind when watching Elemental was that it basically Zootopia but for elements, and that's not a bad thing! The animation and visuals were stunning, each scene always had some sort of movement which I liked because it made it feel more alive in a sense. The world-building was dynamic and showed us how well the elements can mix, but how hard it is for fire to mix. Furthermore, the storyline was pretty heartwarming and at times it did get emotional and tense, I liked the relationship Ember had with her parents which added more emotion to the scenes and when paired with the music made for some pretty visuals and powerful scenes.

Other Notes:
  • I loved watching how the elements interacted with their environment, it made the world seem bigger
  • I loved the character names, and play-on names for their elements
  • The character designs were very pretty
  • The movie was very colourful.

Masterpiece!
10 August 2023
I finally got around to watching Spider-man: Across the Spiderverse and I'm so happy that I did, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and know I'll be rewatching it soon. I managed to avoid spoilers for this movie and I'm so happy that I did because I went in not knowing anything besides information from the previous movie. This movie starts by giving us Gwen's backstory which I found heartbreaking, the visuals were strong and the music added to the story and then from there we go back to Miles which the story focuses on. I like the subtle detail of the music changing depending on what dimension they're in and who's involved, I also loved the themes being incorporated into the music too.

The character introductions were amazing, funny, and unique to every spider person, I love how they animated everyone differently depending on what dimension they came from to show that difference. Also, their designs! I'm in love with them all, they're so detailed, it almost leaves me speechless. As well as I love how everyone interacts with their environment, they see things from unique perspectives and move in such bouncy ways that it looks natural for anybody to do, but I know that if I tried to move the way they did I'd pull something. But this detail especially shows during action scenes, they make the world seem bigger, and they make the fights engaging and fun to watch.

Storywise, I loved the comedy and found myself laughing at the jokes and how the characters interacted. I loved the natural mix of different languages and when the characters were speaking in their native language I felt like that was just between characters and not really for the audience to understand what's being said but how it's being said. Also, the visual details of character growth since the previous movie, Miles grew, Gwen grew and her hair got longer, it makes it seem like just because we don't see the characters their lives are still ongoing. I also loved the connection between Miles and the villain, it calls back to the previous movie.

Overall, this movie is not only visually appealing but emotional too. The music is powerful, and the story is engaging and at times funny too. I did not see that plot twist ending though, but it makes me excited to see another movie!

It was... okay??
2 August 2023
So I finally got around to watching The Flash and I have to say it was kinda fun, the special effects and CGI weren't really the best part of the movie and at times it did take away from the storyline. But, I did find myself enjoying the movie, the storyline is easy to follow as the science involved isn't too hard to understand nor is it completely realistic either. The characters were okay, and the music was fun too. I don't really have a lot to say about this movie, to be honest, I don't think it needed to be 2hr 25mins long because some of the scenes could have been cut down due to being unnecessary.

Enjoyable
29 July 2023
From the beginning to the end, this movie has really nice animation, lighting, and colours, everything looks realistic. The storyline is similar but different from the show, it's a bit more fast-paced but that's what I expect from the movie, it's focused more on Ladybug and Catnoir unlike the show has an equal balance between the characters. I really enjoyed this movie but I was surprised at the musical numbers, I was not expecting these to be the movie and every time they would start to sing I found myself enjoying the movie more, but I did find Marinette's singing voice to be a 180 from her normal speaking voice. Also, the storyline in the movie makes it so Gabriel is redeemable and apologetic for his actions unlike his show counterpart and I found that I liked this Gabriel a lot more. I love the character designs, especially Chloe's!

Enjoyed every minute!
26 July 2023
Derry Girls is a very fun show to watch, the seasons aren't long and the episodes are around 25 minutes long (besides the series finale which was about 45 minutes). All of the characters are likeable and I didn't groan or dislike any of them, by the end of the show my favourites were Clare and James. Story-wise, each episode has its own plot and development that makes it so you don't really need to watch the whole show to understand the episode, I really liked this because it felt like I wasn't missing anything. Also, the season finales (in 1, 2, and 3) show some historic moments that happened during the timeframe when the show takes place, it shows what people were doing during this time and what their lives were like (albeit a bit dramatic). Overall, I really enjoyed this show and I can see myself rewatching it again!

Barbie has an existential crisis
22 July 2023
Barbie is a really fun movie that all ages can enjoy because while it's colourful and entertaining the main storyline can get emotional at times. The comedy in the movie is pretty funny too and got a few laughs from everyone in the cinema, the music is really nice and so are the choreographed dances. What I liked the most about this movie is that it was very doll-like, the food and drink were plastic and fake, the cars didn't have engines and just glided along the floor, and the actors were doll-like in their movements and how they interacted with their environment.

The sheer amount of details that are in this movie is amazing, from the clothes, the wide variety of dolls, cars, pets, houses, and even down to the accessories were a perfect match to what's being sold or what has been sold in the past. On another note, I was not expecting the plot twist and the antagonist to be revealed, but that's what I liked about this movie, I went in thinking to know what this movie was going to be about but I was wrong and was surprised. As the movie progresses you find yourself enjoying it more and more, it's well paced and it has a good story so I definitely recommend it!

Very heartwarming
7 July 2023
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 - I finally got around to watching the movie and am so happy I did! The opening scene is excellent and shows all of the characters, the music is cool and relaxing which helps tell the story of "this place is slow and steady". As a warning, there are depictions of animal cruelty but things don't get too graphic, it's needed to tell the story of Rocket and his origins, and some parts were heartwarming and also heartbreaking. On another note, the thing I like most about the Guardian movies is the world-building that it has, because the story is set in space there are countless worlds that can be brought in with new characters. Also, the action scenes are engaging and fun, easy to follow along, and not overwhelming, it also fits the plot and shows that they're not just fighting for the fun of it.

Additionally, the ending scene (and post-credit scene) was very heartwarming to watch. I somehow went months without seeing a spoiler for this movie and it was great because I went into the movie without knowing anything which made me love every single minute.

Additional Notes:
  • The movie is very colourful, as is space, so it looks realistic
  • I always forget how overpowered Mantis can be when she uses her powers
  • Nebula has changed so much since her first appearance and she is now one of my favourite characters
  • I was surprised to hear the swearing, normally Marvel movies don't contain swear
  • Groot got upgrades in this movie! Looking good
  • I want to give Rocket a hug.

Colourful and fun
7 July 2023
The Super Mario Bros. Movie - I heard so many people say this was one of the best films they have watched, and it was getting a lot of hype (mainly due to Jack Black's Peaches song) so I finally caved and watched it. It was fun, it was very colourful and I'm happy that I was able to recognise a lot of characters, places, and items without being a Mario Superfan. The actors did a good job of voice acting but I really hope movies would stop having a full celebrity cast and hire VAs but that's just a personal thing of mine. But overall, I had fun watching the movie, it was engaging, and I got happy when I recognised something.

Mediocre
7 July 2023
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, what can I say about this movie? Hmmm... it was mediocre at best, personally I didn't think it stands out amongst Marvel movies but it's not the worst either. The reason for this is that the storyline just felt off and uninspired, the actors were good and they did great with what they were given but some actors like Paul Rudd who is usually very engaging with his characters just felt flat this time around. Also, at times the special effects looked off and fake, but they did look colourful which I liked. Additionally, the comedy this time around felt flat too, I found the previous movies humorous but this one just didn't hit anything. But on the plus side, the post-credit scene was interesting and the post-post-credit scene gives Loki season 2 hopefully. Overall, very mediocre.

It's pretty fun!
4 July 2023
Season 1: I have been looking forward to this show for some time and wasn't disappointed! The action scenes are fun to watch, the monsters are cool to look at and their lore is fascinating. I really liked the character introductions, their designs, and the chemistry between each other, I really liked Geralt and Jaskier's friendship throughout the season and how they developed their bond. Also, the storyline is pretty interesting too, I like the mages and how they train their powers.

It had a somewhat cliffhanger ending which makes me look forward to another season!

Season 2: It's back! I was so happy to see that the new season was out on Netflix, it's got nice long episodes which help with world-building and plot development. The show starts off where the last season ended, and the story progresses throughout the episodes. I liked seeing Kaer Morhen and the other characters during this part of the show and seeing the characters' friendships develop as more information is given away. Similarly, this season ended with a cliffhanger so I can't wait for the next one!

Season 3: The first part of the season has finally dropped! It's good to see the characters again after what happened last season. I have really liked the storyline and character development so far, the characters are all entwined with one another and the bonds are strong. As well as seeing romance return for certain characters and a new type of romance unfolding for others. Also, so far the action scenes have been fun (like they always are) and easy to follow. The second part of the season came out and it's okay, it's a bit short with 3 episodes but it allows the story to progress. I found this part of the season to have more emotional parts because there were conflicts that caused the characters to stress, and allowed them to develop. Also, the fighting was fun to watch!

Enjoyable!
14 April 2023
S1: Throughout out the nine episodes there was a lot of story progression, it was set at a good pace and easy to follow along, as well as we got to see the consequences of their actions/choices that helped build the story. I loved the heart-to-heart moments where we got to see the characters bond and it just added more to the storyline. Other notes: the visuals, lightning, music, etc were outstanding and were lovely to watch. I loved how each episode slowly changed its scenery and environment and it made the world building engaging and interesting. The music was lovely to listen to, it wasn't overpowering in moments that focused on the characters, but it was powerful when it needed to be. As someone who hasn't played the game or watched any gameplay, I really liked the show and I look forward to another season!

Perfect!
29 March 2023
[P. S There's a post credit scene!]

I can honestly say that Chapter 4 is amazing and might be one of the best movies from this series! The action is really engaging (like the other films), and it looks realistic too, the action scenes take up a lot of the movie but that's just the essence of John Wick and it only adds to the tension and story.

Speaking of the story, it's easy to follow and understand, at times it did get emotional but still allowed for some humorous moments that made the audience laugh, and a pretty heart-warming ending. The characters are all very likeable and unlikable (in the sense that you're meant to dislike the character) and the actors played them very well!

Other details: > Uses lots of shadows in scenes that it became predictable, but I still liked it.

> Costumes/clothing looked really nice throughout the film > Music is very immersive and adds more tension to the scenes, it also keeps the audience engaged and makes the scenes more entertaining > I also noticed that there's a lot of scenes where a character is walking for some time, so we just get to hear their footsteps.

Non-stop action!
18 March 2023
I can honestly say that I love this movie so much, it's one of my favourite film series to date. John Wick is a character that demands respect whenever he enters a room, people know not to mess with him, or his stuff should they face consequences. This movie is non-stop action scenes and it's very engaging (now I'm not a professional MA) and it looks realistic too and well thought out. Also, the music is very powerful and adds so much more tension to the scenes, it grabs the audience's attention and ensures that they stay focused. Even after years of release, I can't find a fault in this film, every detail is thought out and the storyline is interesting and allows for more progression as the movie series expand.

An amazing show!
14 February 2023
"Love, Death & Robots" is an interesting show, it's filled with a collection of short episodes that have unique stories. Each episodes the characters and their stories change, but the animation is flawless. The textures look realistic and how they interact with the environment is lovely, the sound design is amazing too. But again, the animation, whilst watching the show I never noticed a dip in quality, each episode is filled with so much detail that keeps you engaged and that's how you get hooked. The voice actors have done an amazing job too at bringing these characters to life and giving the story more depth.

Amazing!
14 February 2023
"You" is an interesting TV show, it keeps you engaged and wondering about the rest of the characters. There are some nice plot twists that are unexpected, and it makes the show exciting to watch. The characters are diverse in their backstories, and they add so much to the storyline, the main character Joe is pretty interesting to watch and as the show progresses into more seasons more information slowly gets revealed. I always look forward to a new season and this show has got its good reviews for a good reason, it deserves it. However, do be aware if you are going to watch the show that this is thriller and there are some gruesome and sexual themes included!

Good series
4 February 2023
Season 1: [6/10] Okay so I'm liking the show so far, season 1 made good introductions of the characters and created a lot of tension which got me hooked into wanting to know what happens next. Good storyline so far but I wonder how they'll add to it in future seasons, and I liked the cliff hanger in the last episode!

Season 2: [5/10] Lots of tension built up this season, a bit of a slow start but then got dramatic towards the end of the season, and another cliff hanger. The character development this season was lovely to see and I wonder how they'll expand on it in future seasons!

Season 3: [5/10] Big start to the season and so far the events of last season have affected the characters which I like because to me it means that they haven't glossed over the stuff that happened and it allows the characters to grow throughout the series too. I wasn't the biggest fan of the "City of Light" storyline that goes on throughout the beginning of the season, I feel like it's adding unnecessary tension and conflict between the characters. But, as the season went on and more details were added it got interesting.

Season 4: [6/10] The begging of the season starts off straight after the events of last season so there aren't any time skips which I liked, it gets straight to the point and allows us to follow the characters paths. It also goes pretty fast so it's easy to get through. The storyline is tense and there are some heart breaking scenes, and an interesting cliff hanger.

Season 5: [5/10] So 6 years have passed since the last time the group was together and during this time we get to see some character development and side stories. But, as the season progresses I feel like it's just a repeat of the previous season. Such as, another "Big Bad" appears and they need to work out a solution, so I'm not the biggest fan of the season. However, there was a twist at the end of the season that was heart warming to watch.

Season 6: [5/10] Some time has passed since the ending of season 5. The beginning is filled with unresolved tension from the events of last season and with what's currently happening as the story progresses. There is some character development that can be seen too. I do like the visuals this season, I feel like it's a nice change from previous seasons but also similar to season 1. The storyline was interesting but I found myself struggling to follow along, and the ending was good.

Season 7: [4/10] The season starts straight away with no time skips and heads straight into action. The storyline this season isn't really interesting to me, it seems like they're dragging a lot of stuff out which isn't necessary.

Overall [6/10] I tried watching this a few years ago but lost interest in it, I think because the streaming service I was watching it on kept cutting the episodes short. I like the story and I feel like it's just the right amount of dark/horror but not too much to be off putting. However, there are some scenes throughout the show that just feel weird and prolonged when they don't need to be. Also, the Queer representation is either a hit or miss, sometimes it feels forced and other times it's following other media portrayals and killing off the characters too soon, which is not entertaining for representation.

Pretty good
3 February 2023
I finally got around to watching the movie, which was pretty good. The beginning moments of the film were heartbreaking to watch, but we got to see how it would affect the characters throughout the movie. I don't actively read the comics so the "villain" of the story was shocking for me, the character was interesting but I didn't feel too interested. However, after some time and more of the storyline had been revealed it did get exciting but it took some time to get there (almost the 2-hour mark). Also, the ending was heartwarming and we got to see the main character Shuri get the closure that they were looking for, we got to see her journey on how she had to rediscover herself and work towards her goals. Unfortunately, there was no post-credit scene but I am looking forward to another Black Panther movie.

Other details that I should mention: Very good action scenes (I'm not a professional) but they did look realistic and I like how they changed throughout the film. I really liked the characters and their development/growth was nice to watch, I especially loved the mother-daughter relationship because it didn't follow the "typical" media portrayal as toxic or tense but as a fun duo who look out for one another. Additionally, I loved the music and different portrayals of the diverse cultures, it shows that the universe in the movie is bigger than just the main characters. However, I did see an overuse of some special effects and once I noticed it was hard to look away. Also, I expected the ending, as soon as I saw the character I knew what was happening I personally don't like those storylines because I feel like it starts a cycle. But, overall it was a good movie and I'm happy that I finally got around to watching it.

Not it
27 January 2023
So, I was a big fan of the show when it was airing, and I was sad when it ended but I was also happy because I got to see the characters grow as much as the story allowed them too. However, this movie just doesn't hit it for me, it leaves too many questions left unanswered that the show already addressed and now they're just ignoring that information.

I feel like this didn't have to be 2 hours 20 minutes long, it could have been shorter, for example, removing some scenes that just really didn't need to be there (such as: unnecessary slow-motion scenes, partial sex scenes, etc).

Additionally, some of the characters arcs either happened fast and didn't pay off in the end, or a complete 180 from what they've done so far. However, I really liked the introduction of the old characters (besides a few) and I was happy that was already a relationship there, it's gave the feeling of these characters growing and living their lives even though the series has ended.

But the action sequences were nice to watch even though they eventually got predictable, likewise with the use of a villain that we've already seen before and know how they work/behave. Additionally, the music felt very Teen Wolf peak era and they would have suited being in the show.

But overall, I didn't really enjoy the movie as much as I thought I would have, it just felt off not having all the characters there, some just obviously forgotten or mentioned enough to seem like they were still there.

Good!
7 January 2023
I noticed that the animation and art style would change during the film, and it took some getting used to. At first, I thought it was my eyes playing tricks but it was just the effects. The character designs were good and I like how they put their spin on the fairytales and nursery rhymes. I loved the wolf's design the most, he was such a good character and I looked forward to seeing him whenever he showed up.

The storyline, however, was okay but it felt a bit meh. I wasn't fully invested in it. The character development was nice and steady throughout the film too. Also, the action scenes looked pretty cool.

Good but...
6 January 2023
Like the previous films this one has amazing visuals and animation. The lighting and textures look so realistic and have improved since the first films release. The music is nice too, I love Kai's theme, I love how it's impactful and menacing. Also, the character design is amazing, I like how they're not afraid to show aging characters, they are maturing and developing even while off camera and I think that's pretty cool.

However, I did feel like the action was a little bit meh this time around, I knew what was coming and it became predictable. The storyline was easy to follow and I like they introduced new characters easily and allowed them to develop on screen too. But, something did feel like it was missing from the film and I don't really know what it is.
