Emotional masterpiece with a power to help people understand
16 November 2019
Never before in cinema have I seen a relationship in which I would so genuinely believe. In every word, move, look, gesture of Merab (Levan Gelbakhiani) I can see and feel an ordinary young artist struggling with self-identification and experiencing first love.

The idea of portraying gay romance in such a conservative country as Georgia could give the director Levan Akin many reasons to be moralistic and pretentious. Yet the end result is by no means like this. In every scene, every word, it is subtle, naturalistic, thought-provoking without any unnecessary preachiness. Opinions and feelings are conveyed through music and dance, which enables the film to achieve all its purposes in a delicate yet decisive way.

Akin does not portray Georgian society as something evil. As everywhere, there are people who hate, people who do not understand and people who support. 'And Then We Danced' is a meaningful masterpiece made by those who support not only for those who need the support, but also for those who do not understand yet.

Pure kindness and love
31 October 2019
Mr Rogers as a symbol of pure kindness and love, which everyone can get out of themselves. Shows transformations in mass culture and people's mentality as a background of the story it's telling. Although very hopeful, the film provides a realistic approach that we cannot make world a perfect place. But we surely can make it a better place, even if just a little bit.

More than a gangster film
14 October 2019
The Irishman is an epic story of rising to power in the Mob's reality. It doesn't stop there, however, and this is what makes it more than another film of its genre. It provides a sublime contemplation on morality, it searches for a point of ruthless behaviour and a point of a professional career itself.

I cried four times
8 October 2019
I bursted out laughing just to burst out into tears a scene later. And so on. It broke my heart into pieces and then healed it. Noah Baumbach shows his screenwriting genius once again, whilst every single piece of acting from leading Driver and Johansson and from all the supporting actors is absolutely impeccable.

2020 Oscar winner ladies and gentlemen, that's what I hope for
