The atmosphere was good. The thing that disappointed me was the silly dismissal of Hansel, a young boy, to let him go out on his own, especially after such a traumatic experience, all for the idea of "finding oneself" as a woman.

Insightful, intelligent interviews with Bundy victims
31 January 2020
I don't know why anyone would give this series a low rating. It's remarkable, the intelligence, insights, and self-examination that the victims reveal, especiall the woman and her daughter who were his "family" partners. The daughter is the winner.
Gay doesn't excuse his killing behavior
15 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
He killed people in cold blood. Brain injury, or hiding his gayness in the macho NFL doesn't excuse this. I don't doubt he had brain injury from his football career, but so do many other players. They don't go out killing people. He was a sociopath, or better to describe a psychopath who used his status to be a thug.

Happened to me

Something very similar. I'm educated, was working as a teacher, coming out of a 20 year unhappy marriage, very vulnerable. I don't like to use that as an excuse...(the courts called me "victim"). These kinds of men are very skilled at seducing women. Ultimately, when I tried to extricate myself, after months of stalking (I had removed him from my $$), he broke into my house and tried to shoot me with a gun he had stolen. The only reason I'm still alive is the gun jammed. I appreciated this series, and the podcast. People should not blame the victim of such psychopaths. They exist for the soul purpose of seducing and using their targets/victims.

The psychopath/narcissist/addict zeroes in on a compassionate, empathetic person. This also happened to me. They only bring chaos, all the while depleting the caring other o

When i tried to extricate myself from the user, after multiple calls to local police for his stalking, he broke through my patio door with a rock, trying to shoot me. The gun jammed, otherwise i'd be dead. These people exist for the whole purpose of using others for material and financial gain. They are immensely skilled at talking the talk of "recovery." This series is excellent in revealing the whole playbook.

Henry Cavill's face is the most interesting thing about this series
25 December 2019
...because he's gorgeous. Otherwise, the series is not compelling. I didn't read the books nor play the games, so that possibly explains my lack of interest. But a series should carry itself regardless, and this does not. It's just boring, and I don't care about any of the characters.

At first I called this a "hit piece,"
21 December 2019
...but after seeing the entire film, I am in agreement that there was sexual harassment from Roger Ailes. This has gone on in other networks as well. Excellent performances. Fox News has departed somewhat from the overly coiffed, glammed blond female commentators. This is a good thing, but they need to do more in that area. Most of the reporting from Fox News is valid from a conservative standpoint, something sorely missing from all the other mainstream media.
The Great Gatsby
(2013)
Shallow debutante won by materialism
11 December 2019
The visuals are impressive. But the story is vacuous. There is no reason for Daisy to have been the object of such devotion and "love" other than her looks and place in society. So...poor Gatsby aspires to win her back by acquiring wealth and squandering it to gain her attention. All the characters are shallow and unlikable. Probably the reason for the book's success and lasting popularity is F. Scott Fitzgerald's eloquent writing, despite the lack of depth.

Thoroughly enjoyable without political correctness
3 December 2019
I love racing history, the old races, the grit of the track. This film exceeded my expectations, since most productions coming out of Hollywood have to add the political correctness aspects. Thankful for a straight-up story of racing history without the in your face propaganda. Excellent film, highly recommended.

Well, that was disappointing!
30 October 2019
Very hard to watch the abuse of a student in the school, but further, the resolution. Honestly, didn't make much sense. Maybe supposed to show the fear of exposure of being gay? I don't know, honestly, but was disappointing.

If you like smut
30 October 2019
You will like this film. Rudy Ray Moore promoted and capitalized on scatalogical smut, and it's a shame that it was deemed worthy of a film. I stopped watching to research the history of Rudy Ray Moore. Yes, Eddie Murphy did a fine job in portraying him, and the film has admirable production qualities, but the subject matter is irredeemable. This film just perpetuates the idea that the Black community approves and promotes such vile content. Shame on Eddie Murphy and the promoters of this film.

Waste of time and money
21 October 2019
....and a blueprint for impressionable youth who have a penchant for the macabre. No likable characters, just following a group of sociopaths planning murder. The resolution, ending, is totally unsatisfactory, leaving the viewer sorry they wasted the time to watch.

Pretentious "ART" film
20 October 2019
All the 10 star reviews must have been from art film school students or people involved with the film. The look of the film is very artistic, almost reminiscent of silent films, thus my 2 stars. The story is a real slog, Defoe's "aarrgg" speech quickly becomes tiresome There really is nothing here to warrant the time to watch, unless you are a masochist.
William
(I) (2019)
Excellent except for ending
19 October 2019
I disagree with the other negative reviews here . There was a believable science fiction aspect to the film, without getting bogged down in too much science or special effects. The characters were sympathetic, and the story line was coherent and well-done. The settings were beautiful and evoke William's identity with place. The only reason I did not give 10 stars was the ending. After investing time and interest in the film, the viewers deserved a clearer resolution.
Catfish: The TV Show
(2012– )
Scripted and fake
10 October 2019
I started watching this on HULU. Having watched the original Catfish documentary, I anticipated this might be a good show. Well, to be fair, i only watched episode 1. Completely unbelievable, obviously scripted, unlikely reactions from the girl who had fallen "in love" with the fictional handsome male character who turned out to be a female, lonely reject. Too unbelievable to compel watching future episodes. That said, the original Catfish documentary was very good, a cautionary tale. Too bad they had to ruin it with scripted fakery.

Big mess
6 September 2019
This was just a big mess. I don't understand all high reviews other than to attribute them to people involved with the film. There were some interesting aspects, but it became bogged down in chaos and poor editing. In the end, a frustrating waste of time sifting thru it.
Roll Red Roll

Atrocious crime, slap on the wrist
22 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This was hard to watch. The perpetrators should have received much more punishment, as well as the administration who covered it up. The videos are there for all to see, yet we have people saying here with one star reviews that it is "unfair." The boys who committed this crime and posted it laughingly online should at the very least be on lifelong sexual predator labels.
