The Brave New World
23 May 2024
A film that is, first of all, entertaining, and therefore better than most films, especially those being made today.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is an action legend and an underrated actor, and his films have slowly become legendary. This movie is one of those, it's simply universal and above all fun.

The plot is interesting, Ben Richards, a wrongly accused policeman ends up in prison from where he escapes, but is caught and offered to participate in a television show where prisoners fight killer hunters for their freedom.

The characters are interesting and fun, the killers that Ben fights are hilarious and bizarre, and that's exactly one of the things that makes this movie so much fun.

The casting is perfect and Maria Conchita Alonso is a great choice for the role of Amber Mendez, like I said, perfect casting.

The film is somewhat satirical, with a good dose of humor and testosterone, with plenty of violence and blood. In short, everything that most of today's films are not.

This movie is in a way, like Demolition Man with Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes, prophetic. Yes, this movie predicted some things, presented them in a satirical way and made fun of them, just the way it should be.

The violence in the film is brutal, as it should be, with plenty of blood and at times it is deliberately grotesque, giving the film that bizarre touch and making it even more entertaining.

The most important thing is that the movie gives the viewer good entertainment and that's what counts in the end. That's why, regardless of everything, it deserves the highest rating.

A Mediocre Movie About An Interesting Man
20 May 2024
I expected more from this movie, somehow everything in this movie seems mediocre to me.

Kingsley Ben-Adir isn't bad as Bob Marley, but the script is kind of clumsy and sometimes confusing.

As for that era and politics in Jamaica, if they already decided to put it in the movie, they could have explained it a little better. The average viewer doesn't know what's going on, they should have put some context into the whole story, it all seems confusing like this. The script should have been much better.

The music is of course good in the film, but something is simply missing. Without Bob Marley's music, this film would be almost unwatchable.

I don't know why the movie turned out so mediocre in the end, maybe because of the script, maybe because of the director or because of everything together, but it just ended up being neither particularly good nor particularly bad.

It simply lacks that cinematic look, and in some parts it seems like a TV movie, unfortunately some things are too mediocre and in the end make the film just that, a mediocre achievement.

I expected much more and ended up disappointed. The film is watchable and has some good moments, but nowhere near as many as it should.

In the end, this is just a mediocre movie about an interesting man that maybe needed a better director and a better screenwriters.

Life And Everything Else
20 May 2024
A moving film with a good cast.

We follow an old bureaucrat in London in the 1950s and his life, as well as the characters around him.

Bill Nighy gave us an excellent acting performance here.

We see how the story slowly unfolds and gives us an insight into Williams' life and shows us how he affected the lives of the people around him.

The characters are well written, they are not one-dimensional and all together form an interesting and moving story.

Bill Nighy portrayed this character with ease, like he's not acting at all and that's definitely the best part of the movie.

The story shows us that people are actually unpredictable, that we do some things, and we don't even know why. After all, in the film, we also see how it is possible to make a difference if we make an effort, even if it is small things. We also see how easy it is to return to old habits.

What is interesting is that these characters are ordinary people, and they are so interesting and entertaining, with their own faults and virtues, each of them is different and special in their own way.

The director directed the film well, without unnecessary shaky camerawork and exactly the way a film like this should be directed.

An interesting and moving story that is worth watching.

Ghostbusters: Waste Of Time
18 May 2024
After Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which was moderately entertaining and unpretentious, I thought this would be at least as entertaining, but unfortunately it's not even close.

The only good thing about this movie is the old cast, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Bill Murray, the rest is a disaster.

The script is clumsy, and at the same time the writers did not resist the desire to "teach" the viewer, which automatically causes a counter-effect and destroys any chance of entertainment.

Fortunately, when I saw certain actors in the cast, I decided that I would not go to the cinema to see this movie, but would wait until I could watch it for free. Good decision, because if I had gone to the cinema, I would have wasted both time and money, this way I only wasted time. A time I will never get back.

The whole movie is generic, the script is unimaginative, the jokes are dull and unfunny, and the actors look bored.

Even the old team can't save this disaster, because the script is just bad.

It's a shame, the movie had potential, but the writers ruined it.

Shardlake: Season One Review
13 May 2024
Shardlake is an adaptation of the novel by C. J. Sansom about a lawyer from the era of Tudor England.

In the series, they changed the characters and some of the plot, as well as the chronology of events.

The show can be viewed more as pure fiction than as a historical drama, because some of the characters we find in the series could not possibly be in positions of power as shown in the series. This unfortunately reduces the overall impression of the series.

The actors, overall, aren't that bad, but still, some characters are there just because they have to be, otherwise the series wouldn't even have been filmed. So if we forget the historical inaccuracies and view this series purely as fantasy, it's not that bad to watch.

Arthur Hughes is solid as Matthew Shardlake, the script isn't too bad but could be a bit more coherent and precise at times.

The actors are relatively good, but some would be better in other roles. Today, most historical dramas look like parodies.

The scenography is very good, and the directing is not bad either, at least those things are good, so it saves the day to some extent, because some casting choices are really a bit funny and prevent us from experiencing this series as a serious drama.

The series would leave a much better impression if the casting were a little more historically accurate, but it is still watchable, it just shouldn't be taken seriously, or even as a historical drama, but just as pure fantasy.

All in all, a watchable but mediocre work that could have been great. Maybe the second season, if there is one, will be better.

Shogun: Full Season Review
24 April 2024
I can see why some think this is a masterpiece, it sure looks that way when compared to most of today's film and tv production.

The scenography is excellent, the cast is mostly good, and Hiroyuki Sanada stands out here with his subtle and excellent performance.

There is seriousness here, interesting intrigues and fun characters. The violence is shown brutally, as it should be, because that is the violence in real life and it should not be embellished.

The atmosphere was interesting and somewhat realistic, it seemed as if after many years we would get a real historical spectacle without the insertion of characters who behave as if they were from the present time, but unfortunately I was mistaken.

The writers had to insert a maid who kills Japanese warriors as if they were nothing, when I saw that hilarious scene I knew that this series would be just another one of those unrealistic series that has nothing to do with historical accuracy.

Today's historical series are mostly like parodies, this show has a lot of good things, but this kind of thing simply lowers its impression.

The direction is good, the soundtrack is solid and fits well with the atmosphere of the series.

Of course the series is not historically accurate, the script is sometimes a bit clumsy. Some expressions are too modern, as well as the behaviour of some characters, but this is the standard in series today, it unfortunately lowers the whole impression.

I've read that this is just another series where the writers express their hatred for Christians. I understand why some think so. At times it seems so.

The series is significantly different from the book and most of the characters are different, especially Mariko. They wrote her as if she came from the 21st century, so unfortunately it seems unconvincing.

Toranaga is arguably the best written, with subtle characteristics to make the viewer like him the most.

Feudal Japan is a brutal but orderly system, in which mistakes are paid with life, and this is well represented here. The relationships in society are mostly well portrayed, with some exceptions, but hey, at least this series is not a complete parody like for example Vikings: Valhalla.

Mostly good and interesting, but unfortunately with the usual flaws. Nevertheless, this series is worth watching, unlike most of today's productions.

Excellent Costume Design, Mostly Bad Acting And Terrible Writing
22 April 2024
Excellent scenery and costumes, mostly bad acting and unrealistic dialogues.

Ah, another series that could have been great, but the writers ruined it. As the series progresses, it should get better and better, not more boring and exhausting.

Of course, in this series too, we have to have everything that the producers demand, everything has already become predictable.

In every show we have to have certain characters, or the show won't be funded, it became tedious and predictable and frankly, it achieved the opposite effect of what the writers wanted to achieve.

When you force something on people long enough, it will always backfire.

Kristen Wiig is terrible in this, the acting is pretty bad, but talent doesn't matter anymore in the so-called entertainment industry anyway, some other things matter more obviously.

Talent is no longer important, and this can be seen in the overall quality of films and series today. And, most of it is usually unwatchable trash.

The dialogues are hilariously bad, the characters are forced, and some are only there to satisfy the wishes of the producers, because today it is impossible to shoot a show without certain things that the writers have to insert, otherwise the series or film will not be financed.

The scenography and costumes are really excellent, but the script is bad, sometimes confusing, the cohesion and timeline of the events are lost, the dialogues are disastrously unrealistic, the writers are simply not capable enough. But today, most personnel in the so-called entertainment industry aren't hired for talent anyway.

Another series that had potential, but the writers ruined it.

Terrible Casting, Poorly Written And Directed
23 March 2024
This was so bad that I couldn't even watch the first episode to the end.

The only thing that's good at all is the costume design, everything else is terrible.

The casting is pretty bad, the actors are not at all convincing in their roles, probably because they themselves are aware that the script is hilarious.

The dialogues are forced, unnatural and so unconvincing that at times this seems like a parody.

They could have taken an actor who at least looks a bit like Lincoln and put together a good enough mask, this is not even close to Abraham Lincoln's appearance.

If they had taken talented writers and a good director, this could have been great. Talent doesn't matter anymore in the so-called entertainment industry, some things seem to matter more.

Some scenes are pathetic, it's unbelievable that projects like this get funding, but like I said, talent doesn't matter anymore in the "entertainment industry".

Terrible casting, dull and unnatural dialogues and pathetically bad filming that looks amateurish.

Waste of time.

Halo: Aleria (2024)

Shaky Camera And Horrible Script
5 March 2024
Boring, tedious and poorly directed.

I've never played the Halo video games, so I can't compare this series to the original material, but this is a mediocre generic sf TV show.

I already gave up on this series, but I read that they changed some things, so I thought it might be better. It's not.

This is another generic series where maybe one out of ten episodes is good. For the rest of the series, we follow characters that no one cares about, and some are even irritating. And the characters are there as filler and because the producers demand so or the show will not be financed.

One of the biggest problems is the direction, which, along with the bad script, is terrible. The shaky camera makes every series or movie worse, everything looks cheaper, and it's noticeable here. The series may have a solid budget, but this kind of direction makes every movie worse.

Kwan Ha and Soren's wife, characters no one cares about, take center stage in this episode, and at one point Kwan Ha tells Master Chief what he should do. Laughable.

At one point, Soren's wife threatens a guy while Soren waits outside. Yes, his wife should be sent to extract information, while Soren, an ex-Spartan who is built like a tank, waits outside. Hilarious.

Things like this are the reason why less and less people watch these series or movies at all, as soon as they see a hint of "modern film production" they simply change the program.

RoboCop 2 (1990)

An Underrated, Truly Bizarre Film With Excellent Practical Effects
5 March 2024
An underrated and truly bizarre film.

The action continues from the first part, OCP is still trying to take over the city and along the way they are trying to create a new cyborg.

The aesthetics of the film are interesting and bizarre, and the atmosphere is dystopian and menacing. The violence is grotesque, bloody and sometimes bordering on the comical, but it never crosses that line.

Humor is present here as well as in the first part, here and there we see a satirical and cynical advertisement that comes as a fun break.

The characters are interesting and fun, and the main villain is solid, especially later on.

The special effects are excellent, they look fun and bizarre. Robocop's opponent is well thought out and brilliantly designed. It looks grotesque and menacing, and that's how it should be. This adds to the atmosphere of the film and fits perfectly with the tone of the film, making it even more interesting.

The cast is solid and did a good job. The characters are deliberately caricatures and fit perfectly into this concept.

The film is underrated, and it deserves much more praise than it gets. When we compare this film with most of the films we watch today, this film looks like a masterpiece.

A combination of action film, satire and horror, same as the first part. A brilliant combination.

Solid, But With A Few Flaws
5 March 2024
An interesting series, with a lot of good things and some flaws.

I can see why some think this is a masterpiece, it sure looks that way when compared to most of today's film and tv production.

The scenography is excellent, the cast is mostly good, and Hiroyuki Sanada stands out here with his subtle and excellent performance.

However, there is seriousness here, interesting intrigues and fun characters. The violence is shown brutally, as it should be, because that is the violence in real life and it should not be embellished.

It is interesting enough to continue watching, which cannot be said for most films and series today.

Overrated, Mostly Boring And Hilariously Pretentious
27 February 2024
Black Mirror may have had some potential in the past, before it turned into a pretentious and bland bore that only serves to show us how there can be a different celebrity in every episode.

Rarely is an episode good, this is one of the most overrated series I've ever seen.

Some episodes had potential, but usually the ending would be disastrously bad or the writers could not resist boring us with various "lessons".

Most of the series is so pretentious that it simply overshadows the little that is good, and the series gets worse and worse as it goes on.

The endings of the episodes are banal, naive and serve only to serve us some kind of messages that are so forced that one has to think that all this is just a good parody. But it is not.

Most of this series is hilariously pretentious, boring and tiresome. There are too few good episodes, the rest are unwatchable.

Overrated, mostly boring and hilariously pretentious.

A Complete Disappointment, Terribly Directed And Poorly Written
27 February 2024
A complete disappointment, terribly directed and poorly written.

After watching the first episode, I thought maybe the second one would be better, but it wasn't. I gave up before the end of that second episode, it was just too bad.

The cast is not bad, the costumes and scenery are very good, but the script and direction are terrible. The camera is annoying, the shaky camera makes any movie or series worse and all together it looks cheaper than it really is.

Unnecessary zooms and constant camera movement are irritating and a sign of bad directing. Sometimes we want to see what's going on, not every shot has to be like a reality show.

The script is incoherent, the dialogues are unrealistic, especially for that time period.

The actors tried hard, the make-up and costumes are good, but that means nothing when the script is bad. Anyway, where are the colours? Everything looks washed out and monochromatic.

The characters are purely cardboard, and Coco Chanel is portrayed as naive, dumb, which I somehow doubt she was.

John Malkovich, who is otherwise a great actor, is not at all suited for this role and it shows. Ben Mendelsohn is solid as Dior, but the script is so bad that even he seems mediocre.

The rest of the characters are caricatures, hilarious additions that show us how not to write a script.

Total waste of time.

Potential That Was Ruined With A Hilariously Bad Ending
21 February 2024
A show that had a lot of potential, even got off to a solid start, but the ending is hilariously bad.

At the beginning, we follow the elderly Sam Spade who has retired in France in a small rural town. Through a series of flashbacks, we find out how it happened.

The characters are generally not bad, but as the plot progressed, the writers couldn't resist without inserting modern clichés that are getting on everyone's nerves a little bit and starting to cause a complete counter effect.

One of the main villains, supposedly a monk who may or may not be, is hilarious. Ok, you don't like church, we get it, we see it in almost every new movie or series anyway, and it's already getting boring. When you see someone from the church on film, it is immediately clear that this person is almost certainly a villain. It's all become hilariously predictable.

The series had an excellent potential to give us a touch of good old entertainment and a good crime story with a bit of spy intrigue. Instead, we got another sermon, and this is especially evident in the last episode.

Speaking of the last episode, it's also the worst episode of the series, and it should be the exact opposite. The dialogues are terrible, and the sequence of events is catastrophically bad, and the direction is confusing, in some parts you can't see anything, and the action is hilarious. Yes, the action is completely unconvincing and laughable.

The addition of new characters at the last minute, who are there only to serve the scriptwriters to complete the plot and to satisfy the wishes of the producers, ruined the overall impression of the series even more. Not to mention how hilariously unrealistic it was. The resolution of everything in the end comes as a comedic effect because that's exactly what it is, a comedy.

The conversations between the characters at the end are so hilarious that they create the impression of a parody.

It's a pity, the show had potential, and it started solidly, the actors are not bad at all, but the script was worse from episode to episode, and the same with the direction. In the last episode, the main character, Samuel Spade, was reduced to a secondary character.

The last episode is so bad, that it completely destroyed the little that was good.

Unfortunately, this turned out to be a complete waste of time.

A Heartbreaking Story Of Brotherhood
19 February 2024
An unforgettable film.

We follow the Von Erich family that left their mark on wrestling, a family that was collectively inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009.

We follow their story and how these events unfolded, events that, after watching this film, stay in your head.

This is no ordinary sports movie, this is a drama that is presented convincingly, and the actors really did their best to portray these impressive people with dignity.

I would single out Zac Efron here, who not only transformed his body and put on a really impressive amount of muscle, but really showed his acting skills.

The film is solidly directed, and although the direction could be better, director Sean Durkin did a good job.

The soundtrack is excellent, it fits the story perfectly and makes the film even better.

I wish there was a little more wrestling in the movie, because it's obvious that the actors have prepared and trained to be able to do the stunts themselves.

This film was unfairly left out of the Oscar nominations, which is unfortunately not surprising, because we know that nowadays neither talent nor results are important for awards, obviously other things are more important to critics.

All in all, this film has something that sets it apart from most films today. This story, once you see it unfold on the big screen, you will never forget it.

Excellent Entertainment
12 February 2024
One of those films that managed to faithfully convey the characters from the comics.

The casting is excellent, the characters resemble their counterparts from the comics, not only physically, but also in personality.

Of course, it is never possible to transfer comics to film exactly the same, but this is an example of how it is possible to transfer characters from comics to the big screen almost identically.

We follow Peter Parker and how he transformed from a scared boy into Spiderman. Tobey Maguire is excellent in the role of Peter Parker, but the rest of the actors are also great.

The casting was excellent, the actors fit their roles and managed to portray the characters. Willem Dafoe is great as the Green Goblin, but J. K. Simmons stole the show with his unforgettable interpretation of J. Jonah Jameson. The direction is excellent.

The film is really fun, with several good action sequences and does not burden the viewer with unimportant things, but wants to entertain him.

Sam Raimi is a great director and he proves it here once again.

This is a movie that wants to entertain us and succeeds in doing so.

Fight Club (1999)
10/10
Mischief. Mayhem. Soap.
6 February 2024
One of the most interesting and entertaining movies I've seen.

At the beginning of the film, we follow the "Narrator" and his struggle with insomnia, and going to various support groups. On one of his flights, he meets Tyler Durden and the two become friends. They soon start an underground fight club that starts to develop into something bigger.

The film is interesting for several reasons, not only because of the interesting plot, but because it is contradictory in itself. The film deals with how people have become a kind of shapeless mass, without a purpose and ultimately without what makes them human.

When the Narrator meets Tyler, he draws out of him what is deeply suppressed within himself and it surfaces with interesting results.

The director brilliantly explained in the film how subliminal messages are sent to the viewer in various segments, this is not something new, it is known to be done, and some things are particularly disturbing.

The film, when watched to the end with understanding, provides an interesting perspective on the things that affect us as humans. The ending is particularly intriguing, precisely because it is contradictory and actually ends up turning out the way you might have thought it wouldn't. That's exactly what's interesting.

In the end, the primordial in man actually wins, regardless of the fact that the story may at times suggest that it is not so, and even just before the end a change happens, but in the end it is irrelevant, the subconscious wins in the end regardless of everything.

What the Narrator imagined and wanted to discard in the end, although he partially succeeded in the end, but the subconscious in him still did what it set out to do. To understand what I mean, you have to watch the movie.

As humans, we are often in conflict with ourselves, and we struggle to let our good side prevail, which is what makes us human. Not everyone succeeds in this, and the consequences are often unfathomable. It is interesting that in this story both sides have their own arguments that are difficult to refute. That's what makes this movie interesting.

In the end, the Narrator calmly accepts the inevitable and makes peace with himself.

The film is truly exceptional, one of those films that became an instant classic. Definitely a film that is worth watching and which, in addition to excellent entertainment, gives us something more.

Disappointing
25 January 2024
One of the worst shows I've seen. The episodes are hilarious, the characters are written as if they were written by someone who never lived in reality.

First of all, the show is boring, it's poorly written and incoherent, the actors seem bored, probably because they also realize that the script is terrible.

One of the funniest characters is "Alpha", a character so unrealistic that it gives a comedic effect. In some hypothetical scenario if something like this really happened, that character wouldn't survive a single day.

The " Alpha" character was laughable in the original series The Walking Dead, and it is also laughable in this series.

Such things only reduce the impression of the whole series.

The second episode is truly horrible to watch, two irritating characters that make you root for the zombies. That episode dragged on endlessly.

The other episodes are just as bad, the whole show is a complete waste of time. All together it looks like an amateur work, a waste of money and time.

It's interesting that something like this was filmed at all, obviously talent doesn't mean anything anymore in the so-called entertainment industry, some other things are more important.

Good Start, But Later It Turns Into A Disaster
25 January 2024
It is a series that started well, the first season was interesting. It later became the same as most of what we see today.

The first season was fun, the characters were interesting, the story moved quickly and the cast was well chosen.

The second season was watchable, primarily because of the strong cast and solid story.

The third season was slightly worse than the first two, but still good enough to be watchable.

The fourth season was boring, I didn't even finish it to the end, because it dealt with the same things as the vast majority of today's movies and series. It has already become tiresome and cancels any possibility of fun.

After trying to watch the first episode of the fifth season, I gave up on the series completely. Pretentious characters and script, boredom and writers who would like to teach the viewer some lessons, instead of entertaining him. We watch movies and series for entertainment, not for lessons.

Another show that had potential but was ruined by the writers. There is simply no point in spending time on something like this.

Unfortunately, this is just another example of how easy it is to squander potential. Total waste of time.

True Detective: Just Another Disappointment
18 January 2024
When an episode starts with bad CGI, it's usually a sign that we're going to be watching low-budget trash. Considering this is True Detective, that's surprising, we're used to a good cast, an intriguing story, and excellent cinematography.

I thought this would be interesting, so my disappointment is even greater.

After the first episode, this seems like a completely different show than what we're used to. It looks like just another series that fits into "modern film production".

It's a pity, because the environment in which the show takes place is excellent and interesting, dark and cold, great for a good crime story. But the script is unfortunately bad, full of what we see in almost every new TV show or movie, and it has already become tiresome.

The male characters in this season are useless morons, incompetent and evil and only serve to make the main characters show them how they are better than them. Such things destroy any possibility of entertainment and frankly, they have started to have the complete opposite effect. Huge difference in quality between the first season and this one.

Jodie Foster is a good actress and it's a shame the script is this bad.

This could have been great, the characters could have been interesting, instead they are either stupid and evil or just plain annoying.

In short, the men in this season are stupid and evil, or incompetent and weak, and they don't even know how to do basic things. This is how writers write most of today's TV shows.

I watched one episode and that's it, I don't want to waste any more time on this disaster. It's a shame, it could have been great, it had a lot of potential, but in the end it turned out to be just another waste of time.

A Collection Of Everything That Is Wrong With Modern Film Production
28 December 2023
A boring, lukewarm PG - 13 movie, which apart from being poorly written, also gives us a hilarious main character.

We have a super elite soldier who beats up people twice her size, farmers who work the land "with their hands", and a super advanced civilization that can travel infinite distances but doesn't know how to grow food. Hilarious.

We're supposed to believe that the main character can beat trained assassins twice her size. Such things have become boring and tiresome, and all together produce the exact opposite effect of what the writers would like.

The characters are boring and even irritating, and this all looks like a remake of Seven Samurai, only the action takes place in space. Well, Seven Samurai is a masterpiece, and this is a Netflix movie, and that's all you need to know. I don't mind that this movie borrows from other movies, a lot of movies are like that and that doesn't make them bad, some actually turned out great, but this feels like a bad parody.

I didn't watch the movie until the end, because I couldn't bear to watch another piece of garbage, goodbye Netflix, there's really no point in having a subscription.

Even the villains are hilarious, all together this would be a good parody. Lately we have a lot of movies that show all men as incompetent morons, and this movie is like that too. There is no point in spending time and money on something that is an obvious waste of time.

We're supposed to believe that the main character is some kind of elite soldier, absolutely hilarious.

The fight scenes look like a parody, I can't believe so much money was spent on this. Zack Snyder has made some fun movies, but this is a disaster. I give it the lowest rating, because I didn't even manage to watch it to the end.

I spent an hour on this before giving up, an hour I will never get back. Total waste of time.

Great Acting By Sam Worthington
13 December 2023
A film that had potential, but the predictable ending ruined it.

If the film had ended in that moment when Ray leaves the hospital with his family, it would actually have been an unpredictable ending, and like this, the film turned out to be just another of Netflix's trash.

Sam Worthington shines here, he gives a really good acting performance and he's really the only good thing in the whole movie.

It's a pity that the film is so pretentious and that the ending is predictable.

Otherwise, I never expect anything from Netflix, there are few movies that Netflix made that are good. It happens, but it's very rare.

The premise is not bad, Sam Worthington is an underrated actor, but unfortunately, the movie is a waste of time. It's a pity, because the main actor deserved a better script.

The last 10 minutes ruined this movie, which wasn't that bad until then.

Just another waste of time.

Action Comedy Exactly As It Should Be
26 November 2023
Action comedy armed with great casting and the spirit of the 80's.

At the beginning, we follow two completely different police officers, who have a somewhat similar approach when dealing with crime.

When they are framed for having committed a crime and sent to prison, the duo escapes and starts a showdown with the criminals who set them up.

The story is fast paced and full of action and jokes. Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell are excellent choices for these roles and work together perfectly.

The action is fun, full of style and the film is made to entertain the viewer and it totally succeeds.

The supporting actors are also well chosen and add to the quality of the film and make it even more entertaining. Jack Palance is great as the villain Yves Perret. He is also a deliberate caricature and fits perfectly into this truly entertaining film.

Chaos, explosions and plenty of jokes make this feel good movie great. This film could not be made today, and when you watch it, you will understand why.

The soundtrack also blended nicely with the story and atmosphere giving the film another entertaining dimension.

A movie that can be watched many times and gets better every time.

The End
26 November 2023
This is definitely the end for me, there is no more point in watching this disaster. Time is precious and it's not worth wasting it on something this poorly written.

The characters are lifeless and boring, the dialogue is comical and pretentious, and the fight scenes are hilariously bad.

Galadriel is arguably the worst character in the series, an unsympathetic, unlikeable and angry thousand-year-old teenager.

I gave the show a chance but I can't bring myself to watch this anymore, they should get some writers who have at least have some talent and really want to tell a story because this is a total disaster.

I myself can't believe that the writers managed to destroy this story, but it's actually not surprising, nowadays talent is not even important. I managed to watch only these four episodes, with the fact that I gave up halfway through the fourth, this is not lord of the rings, this is another disaster made for "modern audiences".

The writers obviously think they're better than Tolkien, so if they're better why didn't they come up with an original story and characters themselves.

Apparently talent doesn't matter anymore. And it shows.

Another opportunity missed, another show that untalented writers managed to destroy.

Monarch: Legacy of Nothing
26 November 2023
I only wanted to watch this because Kurt Russell is in it. I gave up halfway through the second episode.

True, the first episode already proved to be a waste of time, but I tried. The writers seem to have tried to make the characters as irritating as possible, and the male characters are all incompetent idiots. This is roughly what we see today in most TV shows.

I don't know why I should waste my time watching this anymore, I don't know who this is made for.

The characters are about what can be expected from most of today's "modern film production". There is absolutely not a single character that is likable, they are all irritating and simply repel the viewer from the whole concept.

Bad characters and dialogue aside, some things are hilarious and illogical.

I really thought this could have potential, given the good casting, but apparently the problem is with the writers.

Not even Kurt Russell can save this disaster, because by the end, after one and a half episodes, I didn't even care if Kurt Russell was here or not. I'd rather watch something good with Kurt Russell that I've seen before than this.

A complete waste of time.
