Cooking with Love (2018)
a true treat!
This film is a perfect watch for a Sunday afternoon with the whole family.
The story is that of a TV producer and a chef with attitude, who get wrapped up in making a children's cooking show, work out their differences and finally fall in love! So the backdrop is the set of Little Gourmet, which is the show within the show. The challenges that it throws up with the producer Kelly feel very real - promotion, politics, diva chef, illness of the previous presenter.
The transformation of the successful nasty Ramsay-style chef played by the handsome Brett Dalton is pleasing to see! The chemistry between the leads is completely plausible. Who wouldn't be tempted by a Michelin starred chef and the cute girl-next-door producer??
The real highlight of the film is the children, who instead of being the downfall for the film via patchy acting, but instead they were a real joy! The acting solid and the stories moving.
The film is pretty great: cute, kids, nice acting, chemistry and casting, pretty great!
The Christmas Cure (2017)
a real treat of a movie - warm and kind
If you are looking for a Christmas movie with a heart to enjoy - this is it! A real joy. A warm and kind sort of a film, would be complemented by a cup of coco under the duvet. Brooke Nevin is gorgeous and a flawless actress, who is a joy to watch. Plenty of snow, holly, goodwill, Christmas trees and a few miracles.
Thirst (2010)
simple cinematography lets the story breathe
The film was very good, overall. A haunting horror with no science fiction, all very realistic. 1. Concept: Four young friends—fashion photographers Brian and Tyson, Brian's medical student wife Noelle, and fashion model Jennifer — who is referred to by the nickname "Atheria" — travel deep into the desert for a photography session. They suffer a car accident that renders their car hopelessly stuck in a ravine, stranding them in the desert. Whilst they try to survive, their minds and bodies are tested on the terrible journey through the harshest of landscapes. 2. The main star is Lacey Chambert from Mean Girls, a supporting role in Not Another Teen Movie, was Maxim cover girl at one point – definitely a recognizable face and a pleasure to watch 3. Excellent actor performances throughout 4. The movie has a couple of slightly outdated slightly mystical moments, but there are very few special effects overall and as a result, the film has aged well and feels current, engaging and effective I greatly enjoyed the concept and the overall execution of the film. The simplicity of the cinematography really let the story breathe!
