Do not beleive these glowing reviews
Ok, so this dumpster fire of a show is based on an interesting premise, but it doesn't take long for it to degenerate into a poorly written, Scooby doo piece of Hollywood trash.
I find it amazing that in this day and age that they can produce something like this and no one pops up their head early on and asks simple questions like "Who is the audience supposed to identify with? And Why are there absolutely no likeable characters?" You might think I'm exaggerating, but I defy you to find a character in this show that isn't a dirt bag for one reason or another (or so minor that their collective screen time doesn't add up to 5 minutes). They are all horrible people doing horrible things to other horrible people - who cares !!!
Anyway, skip this trash. You'll be glad you did.
The Wrath of Becky (2023)
Steaming pile of garbage
So it didn't take me long to realize this film was just the ramblings of an extremely far left Democrat with dreams of brutal violence (and they say the right is the violent side) enacted out with the understanding of an 8 years old. A few examples:
~ Hot coffee spilled on a person typically requires competent medical treatment, not a towel. Clearly the writer/director doesn't know this.
~ You cannot pull the pin on a grenade at a 90 degree angle to the pinhole - basic physics. Clearly the writer/director doesn't know this.
~ Crossbows require the bolt to lay flat in the bolt channel to fire with any accuracy. Again, the writer/director doesn't know this,.. do I have to keep saying this???
~ Shotguns do not expel burning powder from the closed action, nor do they do this a second AFTER the shell is fired. You know what I would say here.
~ Bear spray does not wash out of the eyes with water.
~ An army ranger who steps in a bear trap would not continue walking. No one would. The word "trap" is in the name!!!
OK I'm done. This film is utter trash. The writer/director/man-child needs to grow up and get a paper route or something that doesn't reek of garbage.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (2022)
Refreshingly entertaining !!!
So I watched this on a whim and I have to say I was actually blown away - it was an entertaining story that was fun and funny, well-acted and clever and for once in way to long wasn't preachy or divisive like the over-whelming majority of the garbage that is coming out of Hollywood these days. It was great to see some of the secondary characters get lots of screen time and development - absolutely loved Mantis and Drax. And it was great to see Kevin Bacon as himself be funny and a great sport poking fun at the acting profession and just generally being a great guy.
The movie had a great message and is very entertaining. You are doing yourself a disservice if you miss this.
The Problem with Jon Stewart (2021)
Straw Man arguments
So I usually think Jon Stewart is pretty funny - at least he was. But this is stirring the pot using straw man arguments- let me explain. The second episode was about people being upset about being forced to wear masks and vaccines (Jon is obviously pro masks and vaccines). And he positioned it as masks and vaccines were far less oppressive than the virus itself. But the reality is people are anti-vax and anti-mask because they don't believe in their efficacy. And how is losing your job or not being unable to travel or any of the other dozens and dozens restrictions applied not oppressive? It's not about being uncomfortable. It's about government over-reach.
C'mon - this a load of garbage and Jon and his audience knows it.
Kateo (2022)
Well, if you are a fan of,...
Outrageously overused drone shots, really poor CGI, bad acting and terrible scripts and endless seizure inducing one-take shots then this is the film for you. I give it a two for trying to put up exciting action scenes, but all of the other things really detract from its overall watch-ability. And in all seriousness, if you are prone to seizures, skip this one.
Bill Burr Presents: Friends Who Kill (2022)
Suprisingly Bad
I typically enjoy Bill Burr's comedy, but this started ok and then got worse and worse as the special progressed. I feel like a twelve year old telling jokes he read out of an old Playboy would have actually been more entertaining.
Reacher (2022)
Really wanted to like this
But the writing is absolutely terrible. What are they teaching these writers in university: plot doesn't matter, cliched characters are ok, no one would ever do this, but put it in anyway. I suppose Amazon can throw money at bad writing, but that's six hours I'll never get back. So glad I didn't pay for this garbage.
Black Friday (2021)
Barely watchable
This was pretty bad. And it was pretty bad for all the typical reasons - bad writing, unbelievable characters, plot holes so large you could drive a truck through them, etc. I'm warning you now you are never getting that 90 min back. The only redeeming qualities were the occasional funny joke and a few decent practical effects (lots of less than decent ones too though).
Peacemaker (2022)
Absolute gold !!!
This show is campy, funny and an absolute delight to watch. Yep, it can be dumb. Yep, it's silly. Yep, some things don't make sense. Yep, it pokes fun at the whole genre. But at the end of the day it is one of the most entertaining shows on TV and frankly I'm amazed it was even made in this era of woke garbage, but am so very thankful that it was.
Dexter: New Blood (2021)
So disappointing
Looked like it was going to be great and then the season went to trash. Stupid, lazy writing. Seriously - the writers, especially the ones that wrote the last episode should be fired.
Total Control (2019)
Woke trash
So tired of all this divisive garbage. All the problems in the world are caused by white men - yeah, yeah, yeah, how many times are you going to sling this garbage???
Dangerous (2021)
Garbage
Horrible story, stupid plot and terrible acting. Nuff said.
And here are some additional characters to make the minimal 150 required to submit this review.
Prisoners of the Ghostland (2021)
Beyond stupid
What the eff is this trash? Did someone smoke some weed and write a script (and I use the word script in the most liberal sense of the word)? Nothing makes sense and don't even begin to try to call this stupidity art. It's just dumb beyond belief. Could not finish watching.
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
Fun,... if you don't think too much about things (SPOILERS)
So this was a fun movie, but if you think too much you things start to fall apart
~ Tides don't carry boats out to small islands (they do the exact opposite)
~ Those crazy boat people clearly practiced how to capture someone and taught a child to do that - seriously???
~ The boy would have learned not to scream when injured after 400+ days
~ They would have run out of oxygen tanks a loooong time ago
~ The deaf girl is the least equipped to go anywhere in a world where making sound is a liability
~ Any creature that has skin thick enough to stop bullets couldn't move that fast - it would have to be dense and heavy. I won't even begin to address explosion and fire-proof. C'mon.
~ Finally, jump scares - really???
Anyway, it was fun, but don't think too much.
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins (2021)
Horrible writing, decent production values
Written by a 12 year old - stupid plot, uninteresting characters, but with pretty scenery. You have been warned.
Jolt (2021)
Written by a 12 year old
Wow - this was pretty bad - stupid plot, terribly written characters and of course the dumb twist that no one wanted at the end. Save your time and avoid this trash.
Tenet (2020)
Terrible
If multiple pages pop up on the internet to explain your movie after its release, you have done a terrible job telling a story.
This movie was garbage - confusing dialog and plot points that serve no purpose, over reliance on footage played back in reverse as if it's innovative and just lazy writing trying to force in weak, predictable twists.
This movie doesn't live up to the obsessive fan reviews.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Decent and entertaining
But as with many reviews noting you have to suspend disbelief and just forget logic pretty much entirely. Time travel movies always have this problem and if you can squeak past the paradox of an action in the past being dependent on the future, but then that past action eliminates that future event, then you can enjoy this.
I would have rated it higher if not for this and several other problems in logic such as creatures so incredibly resilient to bullet fire, yet capable of flight and the problem that presents for physics, but I'll let it go.
The Mosquito Coast (2021)
Such a dissappointment
You will find yourself repeatedly telling the screen "that's dumb, no one would do that" and my personal favourite "no one could be that stupid".
Nice locales, decent acting, pacing is ok, dialogue is sometime clever, but this is a terrible story and should never have been made especially in this day and age with so much decent TV.
I Care a Lot (2020)
Terrible movie
Who wants to see a movie where such an evil character wins? Where did these writers learn to write?
Skylines (2020)
Dumb, dumb, dumb
I had really high hopes for this, but as with most of what is coming out of Hollywood this day, it suffers from a stupid story, bad writing, bad dialog all in an attempt to squeeze a few bucks out of the movie watching audiences
2067 (2020)
Pretty dumb
I guess people will make any dumb story into a movie. That's pretty much what happened here. I realize time travel is a tough nut to crack from a cinematic perspective, but this was terrible. No one wants to see a sci-fi movie where the protagonist spends most of his time crying.
Ava (2020)
Decent action, but garbage script
So the good is that there are a handful of decent action scenes - not John Wick decent, but acceptable.
The bad is that the dialog is terrible, the acting (especially Common - who told that idiot he could act???) was stilted and literally unbelievable (not in a good way) and the plot was stupid beyond belief. Who cares if an international assassin is curious about why? If she still gets the job done, what does it matter? And yet this is the central point of the story. And we are supposed to believe she is a reformed junkie? And the utterly stupid dynamics with her family? Children write more plausible plots than this.
Save your time/money and skip this trash.
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)
Wow - now that's a whole lotta garbage
It has been a long time since I felt that even if you paid me to sit through this flaming dung heap, I'd feel like I got the short end of the stick, but this movie has certainly achieved that. Horrible writing, horrible characters, absolutely stupid plot and the list goes on and on. You have been warned.
Black Summer (2019)
Such potential,... turned to garbage
Great premise and great story telling mechanism, but absolutely terrible writing. Such a massive disappointment given the ridiculously dumb characters, massive plot holes and boatloads of missive, yet vital story details that the writers were simply too lazy to include. I have read children's stories that made more sense than this drivel.
Avoid. Spend your time doing something more productive,... like watching paint dry.
