Argylle (2024)
Bad film in every box
I never go so low in a mark to a film. It was really bad; I felt I lost my time. I did not put cero because of the initial scene, in which Dua Lipa is gorgeous, and because I didn´t get out of the venue.
The story has so many twists that it "crunch it". It was hard to follow it.
The cast has several good actors, but they are wasted:
Every single character was exaggerated and faker than Barbie´s world!! I didn´t like anyone, not even Garfield. Everything was ridiculous.
I was expecting a much better film! That is why I am so mad and disappointed.
I recommend to avoid wasting your time. Do not watch it!
The Recruit (2022)
We have new and younger and uncredible 007!
The product is entertaining, but with a series of unlikely situations; the main character goes from being a smart student to a "great" spy with super survival and crisis management skills, just because. It is not believable. But he is not the only one, several of the other protagonists are not so solid either.
What bothered me the most was that the season ended without a resolution and several loose ends. I believe that this strategy of leaving the viewer on hold to hook it to the next season is perverse and generates a feeling of deceit and frustration since it will take a long time to see the resolution and as they already know this path, they are going to carry on with the same scheme. Why not, series creators make round seasons?
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
The irreverent fall of Thor and Marvel
Undoubtedly the Marvel Universe has nurtured us with many interesting and entertaining movies. But it's already been months, if not years, that each production is worse than the previous one including TV series. Rehashes, threadless plots and increasingly meaningless. They had already given us an irreverent and, for me, unpleasant line from Deadpool, but this installment of Thor is really falling into a pit of mediocrity; I was tempted several times to leave the Cinema. The film has a great collection of great actors who I don't know how they agreed to participate in this fraud (They are only reason I gave one more star). It had a lot of potential, especially with the return of Jane Foster, I think that if Mr. Stan Lee came back and saw what they were doing with his "Universe" he would send them all to an alternate one. I had already promised myself not to see more of Marvel, but I thought Thor is Thor, I never imagined that they could do something so bad and without head or tail. RIP Marvel!!
Eternals (2021)
Superproduction with no content
Is like when you recieved a very beatiful gift box and you open and you have nothing inside. The 4 stars are for the box.
The story is absolutely uncredible with so many unneccesary twists!
None of the characters is round, eventhough there are very good actors, it seems so fake everyone!
Marvel should start to take care much more on the content and not produce just for the money!
I have several friends that stop watching Marvel films, I am about to do the same!!!
Mandibules (2020)
Senseless and cruel
I love French cinema. But this movie is bad from start to finish. I don't know how it can get such a high overall rating.
Nonsense, I do not know what they call comedy to something so flat and also a little seasoned with unnecessary cruelty. With a little more evil it could even have become a Gore movie
I did not leave me anything! If anything bothersome. And a feeling of having wasted my money and my time
French festival curators should make sure to put in titles that are at least moderately good.
It has been described as cult cinema, I don't know why? Someone explain it to me!!
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Bloody Garbage
A terribly bad movie: not funny, not credible, without a congruent plot, and unnecessarily gory, in short: a bad Gore movie with no sense.
I did not put 1/10 because it has a technical effort in the special effects.
I did not leave the room because I paid for my ticket and I was thinking of enforcing it, but I regret not having done it right away.
It amazes me how this film can get such high marks. What a shame that the taste of moviegoers is deteriorating in this way and is satisfied with this!

I have to accept that the film surprised me and captured me from the beginning. The story is fresh and different. It takes us to the intimate worlds of the participating characters. Through a creative solution it allows us to ask ourselves, What if we could recapture a glorious moment? Good performances lead us to believe that it is possible and the scenarios are very well done. Without asking too many questions, you let yourself be carried away by the argument and you get excited to think that you can get back to life. What would be the highlight of my life? But even more important, what part of my essence do I have to recover to be happy today? The character Margot captivated me! On the other hand, Victor shows us the metamorphosis that love achieves. I don't know what magic the film has, that I came out happy and hopeful. I do not know why not much more has been heard of the film and it reached theaters earlier and remains for a longer time. Without a doubt, French cinematography gives us little hidden gems from time to time.
Nocturnal Animals (2016)
Unnecessary and disturbing Violence scenes, avoid it .
I think a movie should enlighten, take you to other worlds and minds or at least entertain you. But not to take you to one of the worst nightmares please! Why! I should stop seeing the film as it showed the first signs of unnecessary violence and a general gray and sad tone. But I followed until I was exposed to the second grotesque scene when I finally quit. So I confess I am unable to make a complete and round critic.
In the Storyline or plot should be a warning but there is not, Why to expose the mind to such terrible and disturbing scenes so explicit. There are elegant ways to tell stories without gore exposure.
It completely affected my soul, I might be very sensitive, but I couldn't sleep, as much that I am at 4 in the morning warning NOT TO SEE this film.
La La Land (2016)
Colors and music
By no means is a movie people will talk for a long time.
I couldn't see immediately so I have already heard too much. Several awards but people saying to be a little disappointed. So I went with less expectations and therefore I enjoyed it.
It seems like a simple line, but at the same time underneath is the human comedy and tragedy.
The cinematography is beautiful, like entering in other world, colors and wardrobe are fantastic.
I love Jazz, therefore I did enjoyed the music, is extraordinary and luring. I read critics against the musical capability of actors, but I found it authentic. In some numbers is just gorgeous.
I am not sure how to judge acting, but I guess it convinced me, once you accept the premises of the film so fair enough for me. Emma is not the most beautiful actress, but is so attractive, particularly her smile!
Not spoilers but I expected a different finale, but perhaps this way of twisting, is what make the movie even more controversial.
Go with no expectations and judge it yourself.
The Fault in Our Stars (2014)
The Joy of Life
I was touched by the concepts and situations on this film, being myself a survivor of 48 chemotherapy treatments, I can somehow understand the feelings.
Is not a pretentious film, however full of little moments that creates a very good and convincing environment.
I like both main rolls. The story is completely credible, it can happen any time to anyone.
It is an Ode for Life, it tell us that "We can and should have moments of infinite joy within a limited time" It is our choice!
I liked very much this film!
Before Sunrise (1995)
Never forgotten Love
It is a very interesting film about how 2 souls that meant to be together in a very specific time and space, share even by chance or as a gift of the Allmighty Lord a few hours.
Dialogues are intense and beautiful. Acting is very good and Julie shows a very beautiful and unspoiled young woman. I wish I could get into the film and give a big Hug to her.
It seems impossible to believe but it happens.
It has been years, almost 30, and I can remember as if it was yesterday.
I can remember her angel face lean at the window train when I met her, I can remember all the walking and talking in the magic city of Bergen, Norway, so beautiful.
When I saw the film I couldn't believe so many years and I didn't know about this film that bring me back to one of the highlights of my whole life.
When she was getting on the train and I was saying goodbye, the last kiss!!! I almost died
again! We were crying like babies. My breath went after the departing train.
It was not a dream but a solid reality written in the golden pages of TRUE LOVE.
Thanks to the filmmakers to bring to the Screen this beautiful story that as you can see is part of my own life.
Die weiße Massai (2005)
Cultural Clash
The film itself is a costum oriented, related to the encounter of two cultures, telling the story of an odd couple; based mainly in a difficult reality of the African tribes. The photography and cultural scenes are interesting.
The story is almost unreal, unless knowing it has been based upon a true story I would never believe it could happen.
At the beginning of the film it seems the description of a whim, but later on you can see that there is something deeper, perhaps true love, that move hearts to go to the limits.
If something is missing in the film is to go deeper on the thoughts and feelings as well as explain better the cultural backgrounds.
------Spoiler------
I have made some research and I have seen that the author, Corinne, has written another 3 books upon her life consequences of this decision. This film has pushed her to come back to Barsaloi after 14 years and only few months ago to her daughter who today is 23 years old.
I wonder Why she waited so long to come back? and What happened on their hearts trough the time? Humankind is difficult, understanding each other is a challenge, we are so similar but at the same time so different. I had travel throughout the 5 continents and I like to mingle between the cultures, but Corinne push this to the ultimate consequences.
I wonder What is needed so the developed world take care of the poor countries?, and How to do so without imposing our set of values? Ultimately this film has make me think and research, in this sense I think is the most important value of the film.
I wish it could be done a second film with a more intimate description! A final reflection is that we do not have to travel so far to struggle in the quest of understanding other people; in our own family we have the challenge of understanding each other with respect!
El Estudiante (2009)
Values and beauty
This is a very nice and refreshing film. I like it because there is no need to talk about the wrong things to attract the public. Mexico is a wonderful place to live, plenty of values.
The main attraction in this film is the everyday life which can be enjoyed if only you can see from certain perspective. Love, solidarity, hope are great values This film changes a little bit the parameters: in this case when the freshman at the University is an old man who follows his dreams and get into the University. He learns and teaches at the same time.
Don Quixote and Guanajuato. Love and hopes seems not to be a coincidence to be blended in this film, is how it is in real life.
This is a Universal film that I think will be remembered and awarded.
Nice photograph, music, script, acting, message, a round film, perhaps little bit exaggerated.
Last but not the least the location. It was filmed at the beloved city of Guanajuato. I lived there for several years and the colonial and world heritage city, is a silent and beautiful actress of the film where a lot of details are captured, so as the beautiful jacaranda flowers.
In brief, it's a beautiful and highly recommended film.

Message to the Mexican film makers: No need to deploy our mistakes there is a lot of chances in our virtues. Congratulations for this novel director for doing so.
La leyenda de la Nahuala (2007)
Nice film with traditions
The movie represents a magic world of Puebla, Mexico about 1700. It is full of colors and some of the most important buildings of the city appear.
The film is Plenty of Mexican symbols and folklore. It makes the film quite interesting and different.
The legend can be little bit scary for small kids because touches some of the black legends of Mexico. However is not so bad.
The actors who lend their voices make a very interesting performances, almost all of them are very well recognized.
Special mention for the music, which is delicious.
I am afraid that not Mexicans won't completely understand it and therefore won't enjoy fully the film, nevertheless, it should be seen, because it will give the opportunity to learn a little bit more about Mexico in a nice way.
Nueces para el amor (2000)
Almost an epic love history
It is a nice film where love transforms but is always there throughout three decades in the middle of encounters and dis-encounters. The story of two souls born for each other, but circumstances always drive them away. The film might remember some stories of our life that could have happened but at the end we choose something different.
The development of the film was interesting and the acting very convincing, however the form that the film was solved at the end didn't like me very much; it left several questions unanswered for instance If Alice(Ariadna Gil) was so strong how come she weaken so much? If Marcelo(Gaston Pauls) had always did well why his wife acted as she did?
In any case it touched somehow my heart and thats why I liked the film.
L'ivresse du pouvoir (2006)
Interesting but complicated
It is a good directed and impeccable acted.
What I like the must is that it is an out of the box film.
I always enjoy a french spoked film.
However unfortunately my ignorance in the "Elf Affair" didn't allow me to fully enjoyed it.
In certain parts I lost the track of the happenings.
This a film where dialogs are above action or everything else.
Location is in Paris which is always a plus.
In any case I consider a good alternative option.
Ultimately I enjoyed it.
Der Untergang (2004)
Is it a pro Nazist film?
I felt trapped on the scenes.
Undoubtely a very good film and acting.
There are some very dramatic scenes that carries you to the extremes.
The best of the film is that is credible.
Though I wonder. Since it put a human feelings in this people, Could it burn the Nationalism in the young people? I would say lot of chances.
War an devastation should never exist. It Should have been given at the beginning some information of the horrors caused by the Nazis!! I would like to have in the page the comments of the producers and Director.
No good feelings should be given to the monsters.
Please never again
