We must treasure shows like this forever
21 November 2021
I was a huge fan of the UK office with it's very relatable, truly biritsh humour. I was firmly in the camp that beleived there was no way an American copy (much like most) was ever going to capture the magic of the show. How wrong I was.

This is true old fashioned, pre woke nation comedy that should be cherished and remembered. It isn't afraid of being controversial and actually thrives on it. You know, the sort of jokes that offend people now and would never be released . I can't understand any review that is under an 8. It's genuine laugh out loud comedy gold woth loveable characters and relatable, hugely funny storylines.

Expected Bad. Got Worse.

Warning: Spoilers
Truly sad what this franchise has become, considering how far it's come. Me and the mrs, along with other people in the audience, spent most of the viewing laughing out loud. That's not what the f&f saga should have been. These films have reached a point now where there doesn't need to be any real actors. They just as well cgi everything. There was a chance for a genuinely interesting world of modified cars to be created in this franchise. And now we just get cars with rockets on, smashing into satelites whilst the two people in said car are patching thier 'spacesuit' together with duck tape. Utterly embarrassing film and had i not got a cineworld card, would have walked out and got my money back. They also think its cute to keep referencing brian . Its.not. Let him rest in peace.

Can't understand the hate for this
11 January 2019
I simply can't understand the poor reviews for this series. Someone else here has suggested it's American viewers that are downvoting which is a possibility. This series is instense and gripping. The characters are carefully constructed and each episode is laid out brilliantly so that things unfold at just the right pace. If you are after an intense, dark, well paced, realistic, sometimes shocking series, this ticks all the boxes. I would say being picky the only thing that is a bit tedious is the 'frown' Dornan keeps using. Looks very un natural and doesn't really suit the character.

Bird Box (2018)

Very Bland
1 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
As a fan of both Sandra Bullock and this particular genre of film, I found Bird Box to be massively lacking in substance. Sure, Bullock does a good job of the character as she's a terrifc actor but the script just doesn't hold any substance to let her character really shine. The "things" people saw really should have been shown to the veiwer to enable us to engage properly with the threat. To merely see some leaves wafting around and hear generic 'spooky voices' feels such a half arsed attempt. There was a real opertunity to show exactly what (at least the main characters) were seeing. The children did a good job although I have seen many other films where the acting from children of this age has been far superior. Again, there were no stand out moments for either of them.

Finally, for there to be no explanation what so ever as to what happend just felt like such a waste. I can't imagine there will be a second film so we won't get any answers.

To summerize 1.Threat level didn't ever feel real or particularly scary 2.Group of characters were very generic, cool black guy, young stoners, grumpy old man, chinese guy, pregnant woman, wierdo. 3.A 'nothing' ending 4.Bullock the only reason worth watching

Snooze Fest
2 November 2018
Sat there for the duration bored out my mind. The story offers nothing remotely imaginative or exciting. The visual effects are all this film has to offer but its just boring isn't it, special effects? If you are the sort of person that wants more than just special effects out of a film you will likely be bored too. Hardy is wasted in this movie.

Pretty Solid

A solid drama that left me looking forward to the next episode. Can't help but wonder if the writers feel a certain way about what happened to Madeleine McCann...

Truly Wonderful Cinema
8 October 2018
This film is a true gem. It seems all films now have to have massive budgets, massive amounts of CGI and very little acting skills. This movie reminds me of a classic movie of old. One that doesn't need CGI, just good old fashioned wonderful acting.
