Dark Justice (1991)
3 Nick actors
3 actors apparently played the lead of Nick the judge. I never saw any with the original actor nor was I aware there was someone who played the role prior, but I am aware of the 3rd actor who's name I don't know and is not listed in the cast on IMDb. They evidently brought the show back in 2000 I think on TNT with the new lead actor having a strikingly similar look to the 2nd and most popular Nick. It had everyone else back from the original and I'm not sure how long it lasted but it seemed to keep in step with the most popular of the 3 Nick's show but there still seemed to be something missing. We can thank the fact that CBS was willing to trash all of their crimetime lineup just to have a late show on their network for not getting more of this show at the time.
Lone Star (1996)
A forgettable film
A highly overrated film with a script that is over written with boring dialogue that sounds like stuck peanut butter. Not to mention the poor acting from people who look and sound like they were rounded up from the local dinner theater and it also can't hold a candle to Sayles' follow up film "Men With Guns". This is Sayles at his worst with rookie mistakes made across the board with writing and direction and even the Academy barely gave it the time of day not that it was worthy of being at the Oscars in any capacity anyway. The movie is mostly forgotten and for good reason and if not for the footnote screenplay Oscar nomination it would have been forgotten altogether. If this movie were actually as great as the people who claim to like say it is it would have easily been in the Best Picture category but instead came and went in the blink of an eye. I am not sure why elaborately lame movies like this even get made when they not only do not make a penny but waste the time of everyone in front of the camera and behind not to mention the handful of people who actually went out of their way to see it. Nick.
Hamburger Hill (1987)
This movie is a joke
I have never seen this movie nor will I ever. Every person I know or don't know for that matter who has seen this movie says the word "terrible" over and over whenever it is mentioned. I have seen the previews for this movie and can tell it has to be one of the worst movies ever made just by the trailer. Terrible acting, even worse dialogue, and just an overall horrible movie. Another tell tail sign of it's awfulness is the fact that the filmmaker never made anything except bad movies during his entire career with "Raw Deal", Arnold's worst movie, being the only slightly passable flick on his resume. As for the screenwriter this is the only work he ever did and from the dialogue in the trailer I can tell it is one of the worst written films in the history of cinema if this can even qualify as cinema to begin with. I can only speculate that the positive remarks about this "movie" stem from not wanting to disrespect the military and the people who were involved in the real life battle. As far as Rotten Tomatoes 100% rating goes I have to say that is it solely because there are only 12 reviews, which also is a an indication of how bad this movie is, and when you factor in that this, one of the worst movies of the 80's, gets a 100% rating while one of the 10 best films of the 80's "Less Than Zero" gets a rotten tomato score in the 40% range then clearly Rotten Tomatoes should not be your only movie information source. Nick.
Startup.com (2001)
Good Doc, terrible business
This doc successfully shows the games that are played in most of the "business world". Headed by idiots who think they are going to get rich from a lame idea that they are stupid enough to believe is brilliant. Not to mention the very lame business name GovWorks doesn't do anyone any favors. Then we see the highly stupid person Kaleil Isaza Tuzman, who is also very ugly and hard to look at, acting like he some some type of big shot who is going to take this company to the max when the reality is there is absolutely nothing he is capable of doing successfully showing that his stupidity is equal to his subpar looks. He acts like he is a cool take charge businessman and tops at everything business when really he is just an ugly dork who people laugh at.
Nefarious (2023)
Left/Right
Aithesta and the left seem to be touting this material as part of the right wing Christian agenda simply because a small portion of this film exposes abortion as the evil that it is without dancing around the subject to make sure that low life aithest liberals don't cry. The fact is abortion is of hell and therefore a demon would know everything about what it actually is and this movie tackles the subject perfectly. This movie is R rated and rightfully so. If it had been watered down to a PG-13 just to try and get more people in the theater it would have fallen flat and I don't think raising the abortion issue would have hit as hard and it would have ended up looking shoe horned in. That would have been a shame because if liberals are peeing their pants and writing so many undeserving negative reviews about this movie it must have done something right. As far as the overall film I would classify it as "The Silence of the Lambs" meets "My Dinner With Andre".
Secrets & Lies (1996)
Brilliant but Flawed
We are expected to believe the totally unbuyable plot point in which Brenda's character cannot remember being with a black man and giving birth to a black baby. This is absolutely ridiculous and should have been rewritten. What was the brilliant Mike Leigh thinking?
