Funny enough first time I watched it I hated it. It used to be shown around Christmas time on TV. Next year I watched it I absolutely loved it. Since then I watch it every Christmas. I've seen it probably 10 times, maybe more, probably 10 consecutive years, it's my ultimate Christmas movie now. I am going to watch it this year again. I think it's simply genius.

Great story. Great acting. Gripping. Can't fault it. Apart from being too gripping so made me binge watch it. Liked the ending. Liked everything really about these series.

I watched it when I was a child and lived in Russia and my British boyfriend expressed an interest so we decided to give it a go. Well we survived all movie. At times it was even interesting. And we kept reminding ourselves that it was shot in 70s and was innovative and progressive back then. But boy was it long. It was very very very long. We are not used to that slow and long any more. World spins faster nowadays and movies are faster. I don't think I'd inflict this movie on any of my British friends unless they express an interest. Myself I won't watch it again. Too slow for my liking.

I am Russian born and after reading raving reviews here decided to give it a go. My boyfriend bravely joined. Well we tried our best and lasted about 40 minutes. My boyfriend fell asleep. I was bored to tears. My honest opinion unless you are high you can not watch it. Leave it to cinematography students to enjoy and search for a deeper meaning there. They might even find it. I didn't and happily switched if off.

I was talked into going to watch this movie by friends. Well what can I say. Two hours of my life I won't get back. Dull. Boring. Depressing. I read Imdb raving reviews before going to watch it and was bitterly disappointed. I didn't see any deep meaning or much intelligence in this movie. But saw a lot of unnecessary nudity which does not tie with the rest of the movie. To me it looked like the director was afraid that nobody will watch it without nude scenes. And possibly he was right. Another thing as Russian born woman I was insulted by the image of Russian women which was portrayed there. The main character was just a cold mega bitch, another female character was a pathetic needy damsel in distress, older lady was just plain bonkers. Main male character was bleak and boring. I didn't see any deep meaning just a very dull depressing movie with unsatisfying ending which leaves just one thought in your head: here is two hours of my life I will never get back.

Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. A very British movie. Only Brits can pull off such great mix of comedy and sadness. And of course world renoun British humour. I will definitely watch it again.

I am giving this movie a title of one of my favorite movies as it is a movie which I will remember. I'd say it's more like a play and the most unusual movie I've seen. And very unexpected. Actors are brilliant and movie itself is very clever with unexpected turns. Pity I can't find it on streaming services as I'd like to watch it again. I loved this movie and recommend watching it to my friends and colleagues.

Great movie and left lasting impression unlike majority of bleak modern movies. I found it unusual. Ending is not clear. My boyfriend and me understood ending differently. I was not sure about watching it and was pleasantly surprised. I loved it! I recommend all my friends to watch it.

Without being too long and boring I just want to say that I really enjoyed this movie and would absolutely recommend watching it. Absolutely worth reading the subtitles. I stumbled upon it on Amazon by chance and was not sure if I should watch it because of subtitles. I was so glad I did. Mind blowing that it's based on true story! Great movie. Loved it.

I don't understand previous negative reviews. I started watching it with low expectations but it turned out to be the best movie I've watched in months. Really gripping nail biting thriller. I wish there were more movies like this. I struggle recently to find some really interesting intense thrillers and this was it. Well played as well. I am giving it 10 out of 10.
